Green has conceded 6 goals in 3 games which is a shocking statistic from an apparent international GK.
Dunno if Ramsey has the nuts to make that call personally, plus the new lad may need a week or two getting to know his defenders first on the training ground before being thrown in.

Originally posted by West London is Rss View PostLets weigh the positives and negatives up of Robert Green as a player.
Positives:
Great shot stopper from outside the box
Great reactions
Good footwork for long distance saves
Commands defence well
Negatives:
Liable to Fumble the easy ones
Can't kick for toffee... Far too many go out for throw ins or land no-where back in our own half, putting us in the sh1t.. Exhibit A. Chelsea at home last season.
Doesn't/cant come for corners - Flaps at crosses in general when the box is flooded with bodies, instead of being big and assertive and punching.
Beaten at his near post FAR too often
One v one - terrible. Struggles to judge the situation in front of him i.e. when to leave/come off his line and confront the striker.
He may have made some brilliant shot stopping saves BUT the amount of times he has put us in it with the negatives i have listed above is un-real.
This is all my observant opinion after watching him for a few seasons now.
Not an overall fan and wanted McCarthy in straight away when we signed him.

Surprised green deal is taking so long, everywhere is saying terms have been agreed with the club's and the player, they need him for cover and cover is exactly what they need right this moment!! Drop Green if it's true i say. Cos if the deal had gone through already we wouldnt have him anyway! Smithies knows the champion inside out, and it's a home game! Get out new keeper for the next five years plus straight between the sticks imo

I don't want smithie playing against Huddersfield. He is a boyhood fan and I know crouch didn't make much of an effort against us. The fact is plays in an even more crucial role we shouldn't put him in that situationI played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Last season Green was our MOTM in 15 games and another 15 times in top three. So he played very well in 30 games and had only 5-6 adequate or poor games. You can't say that about any other player in QPR. He was our most valuable player after Charlie Austin.
He's also been better for us than Cesar, Cerny, Kenny and Camp. He's not brilliant and makes mistakes but he's been good enough for us. Anyone who says else do not know much about goalkeeping, IMO of course.
