  • Would you take X for this player and Y for that player

As fans why would we want Matty Phillips to leave for £10m or Austin for £15m if it means we have a weaker squad. I'm confused.

We won't re-invest it and even if we wanted to there won't be the time left in the windown.

It's best we have Phillips and Austin rather than £25m or even £30m really if you think about it as a FAN.

i get what you are saying and agree that "it aint my money being spent / received". There does seem to be this obsession that fans want the club to be profitable, almost more than they want it to be successful. I dont understand it at times.

No one wants our best players to leave I believe.

I think people are just being realistic that these players will want to leave and are likely to go as PL teams would take them and are rating there value as they see fit.

I think the fact they have both played, assisted and scored means they are happy to stay. If not the manager wouldn't pick them.

I'm not so sure, I think they both want to get back into the PL. They can't really refuse to play and they are better than those that would come in for them as you rightly say so we almost have to play them.

If they were happy to stay I would have expected them to come out and say so and possibly sign a longer contract.

To me it's all about saving money for Rangers, getting charlie, matty, green, and maybe fer of would save the club a fortune, and if there is to be addition's we are talking the likes off Leon best, ect ect coming in, ramsey and Les have been instructed to do exactly this, that's why when you read about players going to clubs we have never really been linked to the likes off afobie, gray, gable and never will be

That's my point, so we as fans shouldn't want them to leave

They're not interested, they have bigger ambitions. You can see that.

Dont care how good the player is, if their whole heart is not in it for QPR then i dont want them at the club

as a fan, i do want the club to be solvent... we all seem to have forgotten that we spent a sizeable period of time in administration not so long ago (and if tango and cash were to be believed, were not far off going back into administration when they took over). if there really were a choice between the club taking huge financial gambles i the hope of success and the club continuing to exist, then i'd go for the latter. i don't care what division we're in, i still support the club.

we aren't and never have been a big club... to get by, we've always ended up selling our best players and losing our best managers - and that was the case long before premiership money created huge financial chasms between the elite clubs. until tf came along, mike sheron was our most expensive player purchase ever (a disasterous signing, btw), but we always managed to cope when staff came and went.

If people think the club care about the money they'd make, they wouldn't ask for 10mil and 15mil. They would have caved a long time ago. We want to set a precedent. No one will get our players on the cheap just because they play for QPR. Gone are the days of undervaluing our assets and forcibly reducing value to release them. We are not going to be taken for a ride anymore and our best players will have to accept that if clubs don't appreciate them as much as we do, maybe they are better off staying here.

Totally agree!....I might be wrong but don't a lot of the "big teams" run at a deficit whilst competing in Europe?

I do understand your point, but the fact is most clubs run at a loss. Very few actually making profit year on year. Not that i want to jinx things, but cant see us ever getting back in the mess we were in. Even without TF we have some of the most wealthiest backers in world football.

TF just wrote off £60 mil in one hit. Just cant ever see us being in real financial trouble again like that. If we get hit with a big Financial fair play fine, we will just pay it.

Dont think we should sell these players for the money, more that if they dont want to be here, we are not going to get the best out of them, so may aswell take the money and reinvest.
