As for style- get the ball panic, get the ball panic, get the ball panic.....

Thought Polter done a fantastic bambi on ice impression for the 10mins he was on (that aside actually think he'll come good).... Austin HAS TO HAVE another striker with him.... Koncheski a lot worse than I thought... Phillips was bang average... really liked Chery... Luongo looks promising... Also thought Gladwin done alright.

    4.4.2 please against Wolves!
I`m not singleing him out for the sake of it, he`s had years to learn to play the ball but still insists, i`m honestly shocked when he looks for a pass it`s that bad.
But the reason I mention Hill is because he is the veteran and a player ALL others will look to as to where we are in the game, what tactics are we useing etc.
Yes the whole team were shocking but I think Hill is the catalyst for playing hoofball.
    Just my opinion.

Exactly..if we are to play long ball we need to play 442

Sure players will look to Hill because of his experience. But they if they're to look to anyone for 'where we are in the game, tactics etc' then they should be looking at the captain Ned, who also has plenty of experience... probably also worth mentioning if it wasnt for Hill we wouldnt have scored any goals at all Saturday!

Was there one? Because I sure didn't see it, didn't seem to be much pattern in our play, launching balls forward, 2 full backs who were constantly out of position, and very little creativity anywhere in the team,

Probably to take the heat off him/the players.

I get that he's bought these players in to play a certain way, and that means playing 1 up front, and that will also take time for players to adjust. But on the flip side if youve got yourself a player capable of scoring 20+ goals in this division then yove 'got to' play to his strenghs!! That along with some of his decision making he really doesnt do himself any favours.... dont get me wrong Im not calling for his head. Also Im not fully blaming him for yesturday, as so many individual errors were made by 'professional' footballers.

Don`t disagree with you, but i`d just like us to play a few games without Hill and see if anything changes.

Any decent football man, let alone coach can see Charlie Austin is not a lone striker FFS. It's a worry that ours seems to think he is...

Exactly!... surely got to make the most of Austin while he's here.... suppose we'll see Wednesday.

I know Yeovil were trash but I couldn't help to notice how much better we were with the ball out from the back then we were against Cardiff.... Think this has plenty to do with Hall and Kpekawa both playing and being more comfortable on the ball than Hill/Konch.

Also if we're to play 'fast, fluid, passing, attacking football' (not my words) then why the hell is Karl Henry getting games at home and not Aliu Faurlin (our best ball player)?

On a serious note though, I think the one and only player who is responsible for that (coz surely Ramsey doesn`t want to play that way) IS.....Hill.
Every time he has it all he looks to do is hit it up field and hope he finds the forward and most of the time he doesn`t.
I know most people love the guy and won`t hear a bad word against him but the quicker he is dropped or starts trying to find a PASS with an easy ball the better.
For such an experianced player his distribution is awfull.
I like the guy for sticking around and he has a great attitude towards the game and obviously loves the club, but, time to use as a sub only for me.
Since we first got up to the Prem Clint Hill has been playing out of his depth and I'm sure he wouldn't disagree. He's never going to be a quality passer of the ball but his defending has set a good example to players of supposedly higher ability. What would you rather have, Caulker fannying about wondering how he can get back in the England squad or Clint Hill getting stuck in and hoofing it? Hill's not the problem - he shouldn't even be getting a look in now so credit to him that he's still putting in a shift. The problem is on the bench and upstairs. Mickey Mouse management and no clear direction despite all the rhetoric.

I see Caulker wasn't 'well' to play for Southampton Saturday
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

Totally agree with this. The results are important but we need to start seeing some football being played. He's had all summer to get his philosophy over to the players but it is just the same long ball 5hit as last season.
