I honestly think he'd struggle to get into Dagenham's side.
    Agree.

He's a poor defender.. he might be a bit tidier on the ball than Delaney, but as a DEFENDER - he's not on the same level. For the reasons Nodge has stated above.
(And I'm no big fan of Delaney).

Pete, if you think he's a "good left back", then fine.
Endless debate... you either see a good player, or a weak link. No point in trying to convince people that he's a decent defender, when they;ve seen him with their own eyes, and simply don't rate him.

A decent left back, and a good centre forward would see our team improve... a lot.
And probably make a play-off spot.

God the man was totally awful!
Yet he was part of one of the best defences in the league.

Borrowdale is a 6/10 player, definently the weak link. Sousa knew that Saturday and his players were clearly told to get it down our left side and let Dyer run at him.

Delaney wasnt great, but hes a better defender than Borrowdale.

Think its balls like the one he played to Watson, supposedly, when Watson was sent off, that infuriate the fans, very similar habit Delaney had as well. However he isn't at the same low low level as Delaney, what did the club ever see in this guy is beyond me, to actually buy him ? Keane's reputation has been tarnished by his buying of the player too

Apart from that he's quite a good player!

No-one said he was at fault for losing. The question was what games did he play poorly in.

I didn't say he was the only one at fault.. it was "when has he had a poor game?"... but both goals came via crosses from his side of the pitch, same at Newcastle. He stops nothing coming into our box.

Yes, others were at fault, but Bollardale defending poorly is not a surprise to me.
                    Others are a surprise.

Days like saturday will happen from time to time, no big deal.

Aah but does Pete really rate him or has GP brainwashed him in trying to justify his signing? ...I can just see the conversation now...

Pete: What are you doing, this Borrowdale he's **** isn't he?

GP: No Pete he's a good left back

Pete: 3rd choice left back at Coventry though?

GP: No Pete he's a good left back

Pete: Are you sure you weren't after Fox?

GP: No Pete he's a good left back, used to play for England U21's

Pete: OK then GP I'll take your word for it!

Dont get me wrong im under no illusions, borrowdale is no ashley cole, but imo his peroformances have improved...

IMO another striker should be our main focuss... But yet again its a problem we havent addressed.

                          "10 times better than Delaney"

Stupid comment the likes of which you generally only hear in a primary school playground.

Wasnt good enough for coventry, palace or even Brighton when on loan. not an really an improvement on deleaney although on balance a better replacement than picalilli is for Blackstock!
its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks

                            and Peterborough.

Just a sub standard player. We've had them in the past, we'll have them again in future.

I just can't for the life of me see how anyone can call him a decent player. Especially someone like Pete, who I presume has been watching left backs at LR for the same 30 odd years as me.

Gillard, Dawes, Dennis, Sansom, Wilson, Brevett, Challis, Brazier, Baraclough, Padula, Barker, Delaney.

Probably what, one (at the very most two) players that are worse than Borrowdale - Brazier and Barker - and that includes those who served at a lower level.

And as for his defensive ability; would you really fancy Borrowdale's chances against Adam Johnson, Chris Brunt or Glen Little??
