Article written a very long time ago relative to a transfer window.

Whilst he has produced some very good performances, he is actually a goalkeeper and therefore expected to make the odd save or two. If he had any idea how to organise his defence properly, or his kicks came close to arriving at a Rangers player more often than going out for a throw-in, perhaps his stats would be better than they are.

Having said that, if this is true, then I must confess to finding our new way of doing things rather calamitous. To lose him now, on the back of Caulker a couple of weeks ago, coupled with the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the likes of Austin, Phillips, Fer etc., wouldn't be particularly good examples of how to plan ahead.

Nothing to worry about, its impossible for him to go.
Ramsey said he was going to chain him to the goal post.

Second from top in the Prem for the amount of saves made last season. Rewarded with England call up.
to be fair, he had far more opportunities to make saves than any other keeper last season. main keeper for one of the relegated clubs usually in the running for top saves accolade

More than happy for Green and Austin to leave.. Its only fault for getting relegated last season.

If we have bid again for Bentley I am fairly sure Green is going to be off. Why though he would want to go and sit on the bench i don't know but that didn't stop Bekovic or Vorm did it.

More money sitting on west hams bench than starting for us my guess.

Very strange.....not what has been coming out of his or Ramsey's mouth. Does this paper make up stories like the red tops?

You're not stupid, you know how it works. Player wants a move, agent puts it about in the papers, no quotes, player denies if asked.

Still respected at West Ham...maybe Green wants to see out career there and go into a coaching role....way ahead of us on the youth academy

I doubt this will happen. Green will want to play week in week out if at all possible. If he was on our bench I could understand it but he has seen off his competition. Reads like a lazy filler article made out of nothing.

Yes, if Bentley is good then I agree with this. Good business not only getting Greeno off the wage bill but also maybe getting a fee for him in the meantime, as he will move for free next summer.

One thought though: if we are going to keep Charlie then we need to push for promotion otherwise we are throwing away whatever we could get for him now. So, if we keep Charlie we need to be careful not to weaken the team in other areas.
