Whilst he has produced some very good performances, he is actually a goalkeeper and therefore expected to make the odd save or two. If he had any idea how to organise his defence properly, or his kicks came close to arriving at a Rangers player more often than going out for a throw-in, perhaps his stats would be better than they are.
Having said that, if this is true, then I must confess to finding our new way of doing things rather calamitous. To lose him now, on the back of Caulker a couple of weeks ago, coupled with the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the likes of Austin, Phillips, Fer etc., wouldn't be particularly good examples of how to plan ahead.

One thought though: if we are going to keep Charlie then we need to push for promotion otherwise we are throwing away whatever we could get for him now. So, if we keep Charlie we need to be careful not to weaken the team in other areas.'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.
