  • Cole Kpekwa and the Youth system

Having played really well in pre season and now MOTM against Yeovil will he get his chance against Cardiff? CR, Les saying youth players now have a clear path to the first team if they earn it. Surely he's earnt himself a start with Konchesky having a pretty crap game against Charlton also? We shall see if this talk is all hot air when it comes to Saturday and still reluctance to trust youth despite what the eyes tell you.

He'll start with Konchesky most probably

It's a tough one really as there’s 2 ways of looking at it. On one hand, like you said Konchesky was crap against Charlton and Kpekwa impressed against Yeovil. Sooner or later Ramsey has to start practicing what he preaches or faces backlash from the fans if he opts for Konchesky on Saturday and he has another shitter of a game.

On the other hand, look at what happened with young Furlong. Did ok on his debut and was thrust into the first team for the next 2 games against better opposition (the same way Cardiff will be better opposition than Yeovil) and quite frankly was torn a new one by better more experienced players, which no doubt dented the lads confidence to a degree.

Yeovil really were absolute pants. They offered absolutely ZERO threat to us so I don't think any of our defenders can really be judged on the merit of that game alone. Kpekwa has probably had tougher games in the reserve and youth teams than he did on Tuesday.

If it were up to me, he'd get his chance...at home against the likes of Rotherham. No disrespect to them of course.

It would show tremendous faith in the lad by Ramsey to start him against Cardiff. A game we need to be looking to win. It's on TV too bear in mind and that might add to the pressure put on him. Then again he could come out of the whole experience better off for it and could very well cement himself as our first choice left back.

Big decision to be made by Ramsey that’s for sure.
