A lot of people are saying that you need prolific strikers to get promoted from the championship and Id agree mainly.....however we did it under Warnock without one. How many did Helguson get? 13? We had Adel but we now have Fer, Chery, Philips & Gladwin. Time will tell if it works.

We had a prolific striker who scored an amazing amount last season and where did that get us? Its lovely to have one, but its not the be all and end all if youve got others banging them in.

The OP clearly hasn't got a clue... His said will Chery deal with the physicality... I mean FFS, his just played in the Eredivisie for a team that finished 8th and he was one of their best players. He was also named in the last Dutch squad.

          Give me strength.

            the problem

both times we come up with a prolific goalscorer adel and charlie but we came down again you need about 8 players who can weigh in with various amouts of goals

Taarabt must have been a Physical Beast then by his suggestion that Chery won't cut it.

Our fate this season is in the hands of the gods, not the prolific-ness of our attackers. But there's only one operative question for every QPR fan who, short of the Wembley shocker, have suffered through disappointment and heartache for three + years: Do you want us to rebuild with new players, new attitudes, and a vastly improved style of play, even if we have to do some losing to get there, or do you favor re-living the past three seasons?

                      Onouha
                      (New centre back)
                      Yun
                      Faurlin
                      Luongo
                      Fer
                      Phillips
                      (New striker)
                      Chery

If the new striker and centre back are of good quality then that's a very good strongest 11

Just curious as to with so many on here promoting our own 'youth' players, they need to play, where are they ? Not one in this line-up. I personally do have major reservations about whether they are actually ready/good enough right now. Seen a number of line ups similar to this with those promoting youth/young/hungry, yet none are now included in the team. I love the idea of younger players coming thru the ranks, happened in the mid sixties with the old South Eastern Counties youth division. They have to be good enough tho' otherwise we might be developing these players in League 1 or 2.

Five key "youths" to fully test this season:

Luongo -- all around, very promising
Doughty -- time to fish or cut bait
Greco-Cox -- IMO a speedy and emerging talent
Gladwin -- unsure what to expect here, but that expectations are high
Furlong -- former captain of our under 21s; don't get all the negativity on here about him; think he's promising

Add in a Grant Hall and a Cole Kpekewa, and there's much to look forward to learning in 2015/16.

Finally, let's give CR a chance to do what he does best: coach younger players to play well, and together.

                        Bring on Charlton!

Lowdown below of the squad!

                          Green good
                          Perch good
                          Furlong weak
                          Onuoha good
                          Hill far to old
                          Traore off?
                          Yun injury prone
Robinson will we ever see him
                          Grant non entity

                          Gobern non entity
Faurlin good but will break down
Diakite madman but not in plans
                          Luongo good but young
                          Gladwin good but young
                          Phillips off?
                          Fer off?
Sandro will we see him again?
                          Henry experienced that's it
Chery good but will someone so small hack physicality
                          Hoilett rubbish
Doughty no experience doesn't stand out

                          Austin off?
Polter pure targetman no experience of England
                          Cox no experience
                          Mackie good but not prolific
                          Jet potential never prolific

See where I'm coming from if three players above leave where is the quality and goals to survive? Even with Austin staying yet again no pace up top and no decent center half back up
It's all about opinions and we know what opinions are like!!!
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

You risk going doing then you may as well chuck stadium plans out the window because you will not fill a quarter of it below championship level

Obviously if Austin leaves, we'll replace him. I'd expect us to use some of the £15m to bring in 1 or 2 strikers, a GK & a CB.
                            Likewise regards Fer, Philips, Sandro.
But until any of those leave for hard cash, our business is virtually done.

I won't offer any names of replacements, I'll leave that to you. You seem to have some experience, if not form.

I don't think goals will be our problem this season, it will be defence again so I hope we invest time here. Who is the defence coach at QPR?

I understand why you're concerned, but I think it's a bit too early to judge certain players. I personally have faith in JET I know he fell off but he was hyped up as a hot prospect at Arsenal. Therefore he must of had talent I also think Chery will do good, no clue about Polter though.
