Every CB we've brought in has been s hit. Samba, Anton, Anton mk2, Gabbidon, Caulker..... And Ned's never nailed down a place at CB. Only Nelsen and Dunne were decent. Both outstanding in fact. I'm off to bed. Don't like folk criticising Clint.....
I love Clint to bits and here is my take: He has his limitations and he does give away far too many silly free kicks, but even at 36/37 he is still a very capable defender at this level. A very good and versatile squad player for us to have but I don't think he can play 46 matches and we do need to look to improve our back four to the point where Clint will not be first choice.
'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.
As we are all aware there is still over 3 weeks to go to before the window closes, Ramsey & Ferdninand know the problems, hopefully Mr Hoos will let them have the funds to solve them.
Reams and Hall are our present names in the frame.
I love Clint too, he will do his level best when picked not to let us all down, that is for certain.
Lets all remain positive.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.
Hill is an absolute Hoops legend, he will not play that many games imo, the guy knows exactly when to say no (he's done it before). He will be an excellent back up, he is a true professional who will influence the dressing room.
A future coach, youth team manager and who knows what else
Trust me Clint won't let any of us down (and yes he will no doubt make an error or 3 but tell me someone else in the squad who won't)
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

I'm glad you agree, love Clint to bits and want everyone to remember him for the good times, playing him now could change things.
So starting another season with us which looks like going to be first choice CB at the age of 37. Crazy with the money we have spent we haven't brought in a couple of decent young CBs we've scouted from lower divisions. Love Clint but it's madness
Said 2 years ago, any team that starts with Clint Hill will struggle. Obviously proved right.
Love the man, but talk about flogging a dead horse. Respect to him for having the grit & determination to go on, and more worryingly, was that he was almost always one of the better performers whenever he played.

Ramsey has said he doesn't want to play him so I don't see how he's first choice!
Because we have no one else. He has to play Clint more than he wants to until he gets CBs in, his words on yesterday's interview. I think he was relying on Fer going to Sunderland to be able to do that, so i think we can expect more outgoings for sure.

Exactly. I can only think of two last season. Both when Clint was playing LB and players cut in and ran across the box. Isla committed endless such errors; inside and outside. And Caulker? Oh boy. Count them. Anton? The same. Clint conceded a free kick in a dangerous area against Villa away, which Benteke had then to score a great goal from. And Clint scored what could have been the winner in that game. Delude yourself, Del, that he makes endless errors. He doesn't. Fewer than most.
I take the point Fordy was making. Suspect Clint would agree with that general point.
When did I say he makes endless errors??
You said "it's a f caking myth he makes errors" which is suggesting he doesn't make any which is deluded!
If you're going to spout off, don't put words in my mouth.
As for examples, you've since listed some yourself, but in addition there are countless clumsy needless tackles such as the one on Herrara at old Trafford when nowhere near goal and going backwards, which Di Maria scored from to set them on their way. As for one huge mistake, how about against Wigan in the play off 2nd leg where he stood still and let his man stroll in unopposed into the 6yard box for a tap in....?? Absolutely appalling defending which could have cost us our day at Wembley and the premier league altogether.
I can't be arsed to even try to go through all of them, and like you say, others make mistakes also. I didn't say he would let us down in the slightest, and would never question his endeavour, but he does make silly mistakes, is outwitted too often by a trick, and is far too slow for most attacking players. Personally I think it is ridiculous he has another extension.
