He needs someone to put their arm round him and teach him the game as the raw ability and talent is there but he wants to win the ball at every opportunity but the learning is knowing when to win it and when to stand off; thats all that is missing. But at QPR in recent years we don't coach that's plain to see from has been served up (Hoillett another example makes the same mistakes game after game, caulker made same mistakes etc)
do you remember his debut? how on earth he managed to stay on the pitch for 20-odd minutes, i'll never know. he could have easily picked up a couple of straight reds and several yellows in additon to the 2 yellows he did get. the ref seemed to be begging hughesless to sub him...

Now that his contract's about to run out, he suddenly wants to play football again?

This is definately suspicious to cynics such as myself.

Who cares anyway? If we can get a hot season out of him cos he's trying to get a contract somewhere (ala his loan spell) then it's all good for the club,.

I agree with you there, he will be like a brand new signing this year. CR & LF will get him ready and he shouldn't be seeing many red's this year.

I thought you had left... Anyway welcome back, it won't be the same with you.

                  £45kpw, according to this:

Add in the £3.5m transfer fee amortized over the four years of his contract and he is costing us around £62kpw for four years - around £12.5m in total.

                  Absolutely criminal.

Article is absolute bull. Would have you believe that Samba was actually earning 100k/ Numbers off the top of their heads. Also, to my knowledge, no way was remy on 80k

Well, the £79m on wages or whatever it was certainly went somewhere!

Here is another source quoting the same numbers:
MATT BARLOW: There is little wonder resentment has festered in the QPR dressing room among those players on pre-Fernandes salaries. The splurge means the total wage bill is akin to clubs pushing the top four.

Edit: Just noticed the original article also used the Mail's numbers so it is actually the same source. Regardless, the quoted numbers look quite realistic to me.

I remember for certain someone at the club confirmed as absolute fact that Chris Samba was definitely not on 100k

Well, since the question was actually about Diakite perhaps you could provide us with an alternate source telling us what his salary was. One that you don't sit on, that is.

Ramsey diplomatically praised Diakité’s ‘enthusiasm’ but made it clear the player will have to go some to make the final named squad.

“Samba trains and plays hard,” Ramsey said.

“As long as I believe he is on merit able to be in the team, he’ll be in there. I played him against Atalanta (pre-season) and he impressed. As a person you would want him to do well.

“But you know football is a cruel game and you can only pick the players you believe are going to help the team win.

“At the moment I haven’t been able to fit him into the squad, and he’ll still be treated with the same respect as everyone else.”

Is he REALLY that much of a liability? as i've said before throw him on for the last 10-15 mins behind the front 2, tell him to stay on his feet and not worry about tracking back and defending and surely he'll be of some use??
