in times like this when im told that our strikers missed a load of chances
i remember brown eyes shots headers and little glances
one goal can create a rush of confidence brother
before you know it youve scored yet another

how much i miss that beautiful goal machine
he may not have been musclebound but he was lean
rowan vine was the player we kept how many goals has he scored
the true terror of losing blackstock has never trully been explored

i cant beleive that we made a terrible decision selling blackstock and no ill never get over it
someone please tell me how did we sell him,what did we gain from selling a 23 year old goalmachine

It must've been a political decision to sell Dexter. We'll never know for sure about the goings on and wranglings behind the scenes.

RFE, the decision to sell him was certainly not a pure footballing one in my opinion.

Simpson is a better all round player and yes we need a 2nd striker but to compare dexters departure to that of SIR les Ferdinand makes you come across like the (northolt) village idiot and to think of it as a town must be so wrong!

I am not trying to be brave, I am just trying to educate you but I know it falls on death ears. If Blackstock was scoring goals like Chopra is then you might have a point. We do need a striker there is no doubt about that, but a decent one and someone that can bully defenders NOT be bullied!

you have completely lost the point im trying to make,clive allen was sold for 450 000 john byrne 150 000 gary bannister 300 thousand we have continually sold players that e should not have sold
darren pea**** at 2,7 million replaced by steve yates is understandable
andy sinton at 2.7 million replaced by trevor sinclair is understandable
but to sell strikers whith no replacements is madness

The board obviously thought that he didn't fit in the plans so they sold him.

I remember when I was 13 when we sold ferdinand, we never really replaced him and we did struggle that season, apart from a certain Dichio who got 5 goals in two season! History repeats itself.
