  • How important is a good start?

After last season I think its vital. First 3 games look tricky, but a few points would be welcome before the game with Rotherham.

I would love to get 6 points from the first 3 games

A good start is huge, especially in this division where so many teams scrap and take points off each other. Key to us getting promoted under Warnock, as hit the early form and summit then never looked back. No matter if you had a bad result or two, you're always in the think of the promotion hunt. If you're chasing pack and hit a blip, you can fall quickly to 10th / 12th etc.

In this league it's not essential.

We need to turn round the losing mentality and fast. That is why loaning a CB out this close to the season whatever the circumstances is absolute lunacy when you only have two left. It seems inevitable that one or both will pick up a knock on Sunday and it'll be desperation city to get ANYONE in for Saturday.

I'd be happy with 6 points, but am expecting either 1 or 3 unless we fill those defensive slots.

I really fear for the early season form...

I agree 100% with you,, but we have got to give these players time to gel, I would say the pre season games av been shambolic what ain't helped,, just hope we don't do a fulham and get a bad start

I doubt Charlton will be up there this season so we have a good chance to get a positive result first game. Then we can't fear anyone at home.

A good start is important now that we have a young new squad.

                    Start is irrelevant, finish matters.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

It's like making love to a beautiful woman....you start the process slowly then build up form and rythym as you progress...gradually you reach the level where you see the finishing line in sight the pump like mad to reach the winning post!

It's imperative in my view in terms of our support. Rangers fans at home are an impatient, unforgiving bunch and come the Rotherham game and we haven't won a game, the boo boys will and moaners will be in abundance destroying people like Furlong, jet etc. would destroy their confidence so pray we start well

Our last promotion was won at the start of the season not the end , no one can argue that in the end we only just limped over the line via the play offs
The best way to win promo is a strong start and carry it through until may , cant see us doing that tho

Many teams have started poorly and done well. (Although this season is for rebuilding)

Norwich and Reading are two recent and great examples.
