Les Ferdinand: "We're working hard to get deals done"

Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Ferdinand said: "We're definitely keen to add to the squad and we're working hard on a few deals at the moment.

"We know we need to strengthen in certain areas, particularly across the back four, and we've got our targets.

"We've got a strict budget in place that dictates the market that we're in and we're working hard to bring the right players into the squad."

On Caulker's loan move to St Mary's, Ferdinand added: "Steven wanted to play in the Premier League and we've managed to get a substantial loan fee and covering of his wages, which is a significant deal for the club.

"Our new philosophy and approach means this is what we're dealing with at the moment.

"The fans will need to be patient with us, but there's certainly a great desire to bring in new additions."

Its not so much the substance in the for me statement WA, its recognising the fans emotion with all of this and trying to nip it in the bud straight away to re-iterate what we are trying to do.

It'll work with most, I certainly feel more reassured.
I'm well happy with our change in philosophy, but it seems some still want us paying millions for players. We have to balance our books first and foremost and get ourselves in the black, then push on.
