Tbh. I would rather have him back in the side than have to rely on Onuoha and Hill until other defenders are brought in to the squad.

Perhaps Ramsey and Sir Les have defenders in mind or have really gone loopy and decided to promote many of the EDS defenders into the 1st team squad. we already have Furlong installed as 1st choice right back, so maybe Wise will be CB and left back Kpekwa .

Regarding best centre back that's even Onuoha for quite a long time now mate. I think Caulker is a clown

Just a question, If Onuoha is our best centre half (he is now) and has been for a long time.... Why didn't Southampton go for him and not Caulker? (serious question)

Funny how people see things differently because for me, his heading is his weakest attribute after his decision making. A case in point for both weaknesses at once was the gifted header across the box at Hull

He was off balance as the ball had swerved a bit in the wind and was leaning awkwardly to get his head on it. He knew it wasn't going to go where he wanted it to, but as a defender you can't leave it, so it was head and hope it fell safe which it didn't, luck of the draw.

Gerrard tipped a header on to Suarez in the World Cup. He knew he couldn't make full contact on it as it was a bit too high but he still had to try and deflect it away rather than leave it. Out of his hands but still got blamed.

Then there are strikers that can only head brush a too high cross and get slaughtered by commentators. It's not always what it seems.

I watched the game. He looked a little sluggish at times but rightly so as early days. They are completely overreacting and fonte looked ordinary as well. Funny how you put him with better players though and he keeps a clean sheet. Not really rocket science west. He will do well and a good club and manager for him unlike here
