I'd be happy with this but feel the McCarthy transfer might work against us. He'll have seen Alex left because he wasnt getting enough game time. He'll have probably also seen Ramsey talk up Greeno and realise he'd be in exactly the same situation as McCarthy was.

The idea of us loaning him straight back to Southend seems like the best possible solution to this. Seems like a win-win for all parties!

Saw him in the PO final and when they got down to penalties the mind games he had with the Wycombe strikers was quality.

Not sure I can see this happening but Southend may find it hard to turn down £1.5m+ though.

Christ, for a moment I thought it said we were looking at David Bentley!

Anyway, this guy seems like a good keeper and would certainly be great back-up for Green and for the future! Unlike McCarthy he probably won't expect to be number 1 either.

Just been told we have bid £1.5m for him. Just a rumour at the mo, i never really post these. I asked where the guy got that from just waiting for a reply.
If true i think it's pretty clear we were waiting to offload someone to free up wages, and Caulker must have commanded a lot, seeing as we have bid for one, possibly 2 players straight after losing him.
