There's no way that Les and Chris will be looking at a mid-table finish. They'll want top six, as the board will, and why not? Who is there to fear in this division? Most teams will be worried about us.

The team has to believe it can win this division.
Do you really believe that others will fear QPR without the likes of Austin Phillips and Fer?
Middlesboro Derby Hull Burnley and a few others including Brentford are sides that QPR should fear next season.

[QUOTE=winalotto;1440376]To be fair we are no-where near a prem league side, set up (team) or infrastructure , if you gamble as you say all your doing is throwing money at it as we did the last time, we can't secure a premier league place with our ground fan base we don't get the income to do so without racking up massive debt. The prem league is an elite league already, i can see the Championship being very similar soon probably a prem league two with all the money filtering down the championship is getting stronger now every season. If like Qpr you change philosophy there has to be a period of consolidation ( because we simply will not throw money at a lost cause now) , dont see the harm of reminding fans that really don't, listen we could get lucky and have a great season and go up, but the likelihood is we need a couple of seasons to catch breath and try again.[/QUOTE

Hmm let me think...catch breath you say. Will they still build the new bigger stadium for a Championship club? I have my doubts.
So no stadium will mean low crowds even if they go up in 3 seasons time. Will a team winning promotion then be good enough to stay up? Thst would be as much as a gamble as going up this season.
No, I think they should aim for promotion this season by keeping some of the best players from the previous one.

The other question is....In a couple of seasons will we be in a better position?....My thinking is no.
Don't get me wrong throwing money hasn't worked I agree, but pawning your family jewels is not gonna help either
I agree with you and just posted a similar response without reading more of this thread.
The new stadium wont get built for a Championship club and a good youth set up is 4 to 6 years away from seeing good quality youngsters coming through (the promising kids go elsewhere with better facilities and play against the better youth teams rather than the 2nd and 3rd rate ones of Gillingham Southend etc).

We could be looking at another 15 years away from the top flight if we dont grab the chance of going straight back up again.

The stadium was always a dream.

          Never going to happen.

Yeah It'll be harder and harder the longer we stay outside.
Look Stan maybe Ramsey and Les are playing down expectations (It's bl**dy working that's for sure) but I don't see
how telling everyone we need the money is helping.
All well & good building a team, but what's the point if we go back to being a selling club?
Thought the idea of having these rich men on the board was so we didn't have to sell.

I see us as being a bit like Cardiff from the year before, plenty of decent players for teams to take off them (we had 2).
They never really replaced with any quality despite thier multi millionaire owner, parachute payments or sale income.

Yeah they were decent and then we ruined them. I am hoping that is a thing of the past. Signing good players ie Chery and destroying them. I think at least Ramsey work with players and tries to play to their strength minus henry
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I thought that too, but clearly it isnt the case. Although FFP rules make it harder for smaller clubs with low capacity stadiums to do that.

I think so too and see QPR being a lower half mid table Champion side for the next 3 -6 sessons.
