I thought they both looked decent the Aussie lad performing a slightly better

Gladwin had a better first half then second and showed some lovely touches to throw the player wrong direction he also looks a big unit.

The Aussie got on ball and tried to carry it and glided past them on few occasions

You could say luongo is a Gary wardock sort off player but with more skill.. He was just all over the pitch last night and just wanted the ball all the time, from time to time he was picking up the ball from green.. We could have a nice little gem on our hands facto

Luongo's a tidy player, great energy and two good feet. He was the stand out performer yesterday for me. Doughty done well alongside him but would like to see Diakite given a chance.
Gladwin is a good runner with the ball, very tall for a winger, think he'll take a bit of time getting used to the step up.

Yeh luongo is a very well balanced two footed deep lying playmaker. Can beat a man and doesn't mind a tackle. Gladwin beats a man with skill as seems to lack any real pace. It was good watching last night. We played a 4-4-2 which I was surprised with as I thought we would go a 4-2-3-1.

Not sure where Henry and yun are this pre season.

Going forward we need full backs. Although furlong has potential I can see him being targeted as he looked like he could be out muscled. A positive performance though with 2 and a half weeks still to improve.

I'm guessing Austin and Phillips could be staying as it seems pointless to give them a full game when we need to get minutes into our other players?

I think Massimo Luongo could play a vital role for us this season , great energy in there , a real box to box type. i think Gladwin while having the ability to beat his man is a work in progress, needs to learn to release the ball quicker tends to try to beat to many , but he is definitely a prospect.
As for full backs i was at Swindon the night before watching them take on Villa and Nathan Byrne was playing right wing back, looked very good going forward gave the new villa left back (who was very good) a few problems with his pace. I believe we were linked with him earlier in the summer looked good to me.

Luongo looked comfortable with the ball and had bundles of energy - seemed a bit weak physically.

I wasn't impressed by Gladwin yesterday at all, however, it is pre-season and I'm refrain from judging too early.

I thought Luongo looked decent but a little lightweight, so needs a Henry/Sandro type in there with him. Gladwin looked good in spells but I don't think he's a LM. Maybe he would add the muscle to CM along with Luongo.
