Completed his medical today. All done and dusted. Will be announced tommorow. Shame really as I've always rated him. Gonna be a top keeper in the future.

I personally think he's bang average and I don't see how any QPR fan can judge him otherwise based in his performances for us . Certain players fit certain clubs and I think Alex isn't destined to do well here . Just inmho

Should of said goodbye to Rob Green at the end of the season.

Done well for us but has what 1 maybe 2 more decent seasons at a push? McCarthy for me would & could of been our number one for the next 5-6 years if he didn't get snapped up.

Very short sighted this one. Should of gone all out to assure him he'd start the season as our number one.

Agree. I will have a pound with anyone he wont dislodge speroni either. Ive got a feeling he will never be a prem first choice keeper.

Alex McCarthy = Jordan Mutch. Neither performed well with us. Really not that bothered by his departure personally, same as Mutch. Now Smoothy Pards can we
interest you in a fast attacking wing back....Go on what the hell, Traore for the hat-trick

I'm guessing here of course but I reckon when it became apparent that no-one was coming in for Greeno, McCarthy would have to go. Couldn't have RG on the bench picking up 30-50G a week in the Championship. Fortunately learned our lesson from the Cesar debacle.

Should've given Green a 1 year deal last season instead of 2 and we would'nt be losing McCarthy, not that I'm unhappy at Greeno cos he's a class act at this level, just i'd of preferred AM.

He already was Prem first choice at Reading only losing his place to federici when he refused to sign an extended contract.

I'll have that pound bet with ya tho

I think Green could have gone to Chelsea as back-up at the start of the window if he'd wanted to. For me, the fact that he chose to stay means he deserves another season or 2. He's been nothing but loyal and professional throughout his QPR career despite the fact he hasn't always been treated well by previous managers. Would have been wrong to force him out if he wanted to stay!

He has been loyal and is a decent keep. Just a shame McCarthy is off (imo).

I won't be losing sleep over a reserve who played 4 games seeking employment elsewhere.
