  • Transfer deadline day

I fear that we may lose our big players on or very near deadline day giving us no time to replace them like we did with Remy.....I wonder whether it might be worth telling contracted players and interested clubs that we won't be doing business during the last 2 weeks of the window so put up quick or jog on?

I know it makes for fantastic tv , but i really think this is unfair (especially on lower league clubs) the window should open as soon as the football season finishes , and it should shut on the eve of the new season, with the way it is now you can plan through the pre season know how you want to play and then after the first 2/3 games lose your most influential players, this window only suits the big teams that can sit and wait and wait until the very end and mess up a season for a lower league club. Start of the season should mean that squad is safe until January.

I think after the summer transfer buisness is closed that's it to the following summer, no january transfer market

Take your point. Although if it were me, I would wait until 2weeks to go and then tell them. Hard luck, losers.

I Agree , but there must be a system that allows loans through the season to allow for injuries and smaller clubs that take under 21s , lower league clubs cant have a massive squad so they need a loan system or a month in the window where they can get players in.

When it starts getting closer to deadline day, say 4 weeks or so, I would start adding on money to the asking prices for every week that goes by. Like £1m a week.

It's not the players of the clubs fault if we loose players at the end of the window 4 games into the season. It's the governing body who have a stupid transfer window, surely it could open the Monday following the last game of the season in May and close the last day of July.

There's no reason we should lose anyone with not enough time to replace them. We don't have to accept any offers for our contracted players, unless they have a release clause like Remy did.

It looks like Charlie will go. so the 15 mil we get from him and the 9 mil from sterling. that is more than enough to finish building the team. The club will know what players want to leave and players who they will be getting bids for. They should be prepared to let these players go and have cover for them.
