  • The £9million from Sterling sale.

Do you think the club took this into consideration with our transfer budget this summer?
It was always on the cards that Sterling would leave, but wonder if the club counted that money or not towards new players to improve the squad now?

I think they would have had one or two scenarios.

Almost certainly not. You can't make a budget on pie in the sky.

That would be the sensible option. I just wish everyone would crack on with resolving that issue.

Could have used it to give everyone a free season ticket this season.

You seem to know more about the accounts of rangers and all the monetary ins and outs than anyone else on here or anyone else ive never met in my life, how much is the fine going to be mate?

FFP fine won't be much more than a few million but definitely less than the full 9 million. Think some will go to paying that off with the rest being used for players. We also have to sort out this Sandro thing before we do many signings.

I genuinely don't know. I know that we're spending a small fortune on briefs.

I was told that the "write off" they did was to demonstrate that we know we did something wrong. It's not really a write off as such, just moving cash about. But it looks nice

We wrote off most of it but not enough to actually cover the FFP ruling...designed to be a "look we only bodged up a little so please only fine us a little please". What the FLs take on that is anyones guess though. I seriously doubt they've got the wonga to fight us and by hitting us with a small fine it saves face for all. Especially with us drastically trimming the books and publicly saying "we're tightening our belts and not being numpties again" is all part of the PR etc. I think lobbing in that TF isn't actively involved anymore and we have both a new Chairman and CEO and a new Financial Director all looks great.

It's a "we made mistakes, we're sorry, everyone associated with the last few seasons has either been fired, contract not renewed or moved onto a different part of the business". On paper and in a presentation it looks and sounds great - let's just hope the FL agree with it.

Money should be banked and looked at as bonus to help bring down our debt.

Player recruitment should come out of the sales of our assets imo as will comply more ffp. Sell Charlie for 15 and spend 7.5 on players, Phillips for 10 and spend 4 or 5 and fer for 12 and spend 3 or 4 and we have put 16.5 back in the bank plus 9 from sterling and only spent around 14-15 mill.

I know we are no citeh, but they dont seem to bothered about 'ffp' by just smashing the transfer record this week.
