If we keep Austin we still need to sign a proper striker with Gayle's pace. Mackie I am afraid is not that striker we have needed for the last 10 years

Says in the paper today that newcastle are still very confident of getting austin and they are sure he will be okay moving to the north, its just they are trying to budge us with the fifteen million price tag. Have they got a striker to offer us with cash?

I think palace value gayle at around 6 mill which I don't think is to unfair. If we got 12 plus gayle then we have done the deal of the century imo.

Gray got 18 last season for Brentford, so definitely no complaints from me on him. How many did Gayle get on average per season in the Championship? I'm genuinely not sure.

Think I read Bournemouth are really keen on him and possibly wolves.

Don't know if he'd want to join us to be fair. If he's willing to drop down a league I'd imagine we should have half a chance.

Just popped down the shops and always have talksport on the radio and there was a football agent doing a talk on chaz and he said it's all hype and only one club has bid for him (he said Norwich but sure he meant liecester), and that nobody else is really going mad for him as they fear he won't pass a medical cos of the knee problem!

Better those than the rumored £6M plus Campbell and Mariappa. I value those at no more than £2m together. Although in all honesty I would rather hold out for £10m plus Gayle or £14m plus Murray.

I thinks it's a fair reason to be a little worried but personally if I was a lot of the clubs the 15 mill would be putting me off purely for the fact you could potentially sign him on a pre contract agreement from jan I believe and for him to join for free next summer.

He'd still only be 26.
