West Brom will walk away from their pursuit of Matt Phillips if QPR persist at their £10 million asking price. The Baggies had an opening £5 million offer rejected by the Rangers’ board.
In any normal bidding process the two clubs would then enter a period of dialogue where a middle ground could well be reached. Therefore there had been speculation that a bid of £7 million might eventually see Tony Pulis land the winger who has become his number one target. But QPR are sticking rigidly a a £10 million valuation and therefore Pulis has been left with little option but to look at other targets.

Does make you wonder, if Les 'wasnt' here would Phillips have been off with that £7m offer..... Also could ask the same question regarding Austin and the under par offers we've had for him??.... great call from the board to appoint a DOF and 1 that has a natural bond with the club!!!
