Not a rumour in a newspaper that the club then comes out and denies
But how are we going to know about this? Ramsey is not going to get interviewed every day to tell us about any official bids, and you can't expect Tony and co. to keep us in the loop every time a bid is made.

SSN saying we turned down a bid from Leicester would lead me to believe there is some truth in it. Doubt they would completely fabricate stuff like The Sun, Star etc.

To be honest, it's all a game, and can't be sure who to believe, but would like it all sorted out as soon as.

Yeah I agree but clubs do generally make it public when a player who's for sale has had a bid tabled, cos it's not under hand as we have made it public he's for sale and even named the price

According to the Daily Mail: Newcastle want QPR and England striker Charlie Austin, 25, but will not pay more than £12m for the player because of his poor injury record.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Charlie Austin has barely had an injury since he has joined us? I know he failed his medical at Hull before joining us but we all know Hull regretted that decision. I don't believe anything linked to the Daily Mail but just made me laugh.

Apart from the injury that kept him out for nearly 2.5 months, that shoulder injury?

That possibly meant we didnt / was unable to get automatic promotion.

Ah yeah of course. That slipped my mind because when someone mentions medicals and Charlie Austin I automatically think of his knee, especially after that celebration against Hull when he scored. The shoulder isn't a reoccurring injury though is it?

The failed medical at Hull was due to him having had a knee op when he was 14 or so. His injury in our promotion season was his shoulder & totally unrelated.

Again, if Newcasle want to try & get him on the cheap, they can take their £12m and buy some unknown Frenchman. The club have made it crystal clear; £15m starting price or he stays.

Correct and no, it was a freak fall that done his shoulder & it has been fine ever since.

I'm not itk, but his shoulder is always heavily strapped, which indicates something is going on.

It's comparable to Cech wearing his head-guard even though the original injury has completely healed.

Much of it is psychological, but can also be precautionary / preventative.

What about £10 million plus our Hooper?

Let's hope Newcastle don't think so........

No thanks - our club don't seem to be into hoops this year.

Personally, no, don't rate Hooper as a £5m makeweight. Make it £12m + Hooper and maybe. Just my opinion.

This. I like Hooper. Needs game time. A good finisher. I'd be happy if we got someone of his calibre.

I agree I'd take that, but I'd prefer Jerome. Can stretch defences and not a bad finisher.
