I think this may be the problem, more than any other mental issues.

He has a lot of footballing talent clearly, but if he hasn't learnt to tackle now, he isn't going to. Seeing as he doesn't seem to be able to err on the side of caution to avoid trouble, it would appear he's not going to be the player we hoped he would become.

Shame, can you imagine what we could have seen if Diakite had a brain and Adel had a work ethic?

When he turned up he looked like a worldbeater was brilliant in some games Arsenal Liverpool . the guy has had some serious personal issues, but if they could get him right he'll be a god player for us at this level? dnt play last year because when he returned the 25 man squad had already been submitted and he couldn't have been added to it, lets hope they get his head right and we'll see?

You can tell that he was such a cool guy though. It was so sad that he always got sent off because it was never due to malice or aggression, just over-enthusiasm.

With Ramsay and Les here everyone will be given a chance to impress. Expect Diakite to get some game time during pre season.

Definitely is the problem mate, the guy is just daft as a brush. Said it a few times.

If you are in any doubt, watch back our Cross Bar Challenge on Soccer AM. Also check out what Nedum had to say about him in an interview a couple of seasons back. Said the bloke was hilarious to watch, and not deliberately. Literally not on the same planet unfortunately.

Not doubting his ability but you can coach as much as you like, if the bloke has an IQ of 70 or 80 he'll never make it as a top player!

he doenst need to be a top player, just a decent championship player this season. I hoestly think if he had a run he could impress a few and re-find that spark.

Something must have gone very wrong while he played his first season in England. I mean he was a very good player and not so agressive when he played in France? Anyway, like the rest of you, I really hope they can sort his problems out. Another French african player M´Bia who was nearly as "unconventional" in his way of playing, has really done it in Spain. Now on his way to Inter, Milano I think.
