Right .... Back from Google so I thought I'd file my report while it's still fresh in the mind .
Got there about 6.15 pm and after registering got one of those ' Wayne's world access all areas' things round my neck . Got taken up to to the Google suite on the 8th floor where there was a buffet to die for and plenty of free beer on ice .....nice one Rangers . There were approximately 75 seats in 3 rows ( back rows reserved for press) ....so not a big do in the realms of things .
Ian Taylor ( the media guy) opened up proceedings at 6.30 pm by bringing out Andy Sinton , Sir les and Chris Ramsey . The next 20 minutes left you in no doubt as to who is now running the show ........Sir Les ....and I must say I liked what he had to say .
Was questioned about the mistakes made in the past and the way forward , getting QPR back to a family ethic club with players who want to play for the club. He made reference to players who ' came here for the money ' .....I'm guessing joey Barton won't be rocking up soon ! Also mentioned that we are working on a number of signings ...some experienced players ....who should excite the fans ...but it was a matter of getting these across the line . Mentioned in the past that agents used to walk in to meetings with the previous regime and would have their proposed terms written on little scraps of paper !!.
Andy Sinton ..in his role as an ambassador was clearly chuffed to be back with Rangers......spoke proudly of his time with the club and the need to get back to being more of a family type club
After a bit of a quiz on Andy and Les the reveal of the kits started . The 3rd kit was met with approval in general .....reminded me of an old Arsenal kit I think ? Darnell Furlong was then quizzed and I got to say he is a really decent and classy young guy .....no billy big about him at all .
Next up came the away and home kits modelled by Ned and Jamie . Ned is a man of few words and is fairly non committal ......though he did say he prefers to play centre back !! Jamie on the other hand spoke like. Kid on Christmas Eve .....apparently they turned off the bleep machine this afternoon coz Mackie was still going while the others had called it a day !! The bloke would run through 2 brick walls in a Rangers shirt and would give a piggy back to those with cramp !! Jamie now becomes one of the senior prod alongside Clint and this can only benefit the youngsters coming through .
Personally I thought the shirts looked good and while I've seen the comments regarding the hoops all the way round.....it's not a big deal to me personally ...each to their own I guess .
After the shirt reveal it was announced that those of us who attended got a free shirt and the players/staff would hang around for photos and autographs .
This was when I grabbed Chris Ramsey for a natter . Told him we all want what's best for the club and we will support him througout the season ......to be fair he gets what it means yo be an R . Short of slagging off HR he wants to succeed at Rangers and he is working night and day to provide success. Grabbed Les for a quick chat to try and press him more on transfers . Whilst Charlie's name never came up , he said we have to shift ' one of two ' in order to reduce the wage bill .
All in all I feel a lot better about who is making the key decisions at our club and I really don't care which division we're in next year ......because I feel like we're getting our club back to the club most of us grew to love .
On the whole it was a small and classy event tonight ....not brash and tacky ( which has been Rangers style recently).
My thanks to Stanley and watrbs for making my attendance possible ......rest assured my fellow hoops we will get back to the club we want to be
                    U'rrrrrrs

Back of shirt appears designed to force you to get a number ironed on for an extra few quid..... It just looks like a vast expanse of polyester without anything to break it up.

Wonder what the sizing on the new kits will be like? Last years was ridiculous, the L in the home shirt was way bigger than the L in the third shirt, makes no sense at all!
"Imagine a relationship that went wrong but you held on in there for years: that's what it is like supporting a football team. Your loyalty to a team can never die. Ties are stronger than they could ever be with a woman. If she goes and sleeps with your best mate, it's over. If the Rs' boss, Ian Holloway, slept with my best mate, QPR would still be my team. Even if many of the things that you loved about going to matches have gone - terraces, team shirts without sponsors and being able to smoke at grounds - you still stick with your team." - Peter Doherty.
