Slightly off the topic, but I heard an interview with ex-Portsmouth keeper Dean Kiely this morning. He said Redknapp addressed him as "Deano" for the first 6 months and "keeper" for his last 6 months.

Also said he was told by Luke Young that David James was being brought in to replace him. He asked Redknapp about this, saying he understood if it was true, but could the manager be honest with him in order that he could look for a move elsewhere if he were being replaced. He was assured by Redknapp that there was no truth to this. Two weeks later, David James signed for Portsmouth.

    Well there's a shock.

Note how he didn't want to bring anything up while he was with us because he knew the effect it would have at the time on our chances. Not saying I think he is the good guy, but he is certainly better than most at the club.
"What stats allow you to do is not take things at face value. The idea that I trust my eyes more than the stats, I just don't buy that because I've seen magicians pull rabbits out of hats and I know I just know that rabbit's not in there." - Billy Beane

Not massively surprised by what Taraabt has said. Never wanted HR near our club and MH has proven himself elsewhere. Think Taraabt may go on to do well at Benfica

think this needs to be taken with a fairly hefty pinch of salt... i don't doubt some of the points:

that red chap was coasting along having lost his passion
that the players are trained hard enough and are unfit
that managers wrongly claim that players who they don't want to pick are injured
that a large-ish chunk of the playing staff were filling their pockets without caring too much about the club

            ...but, at the same time:

do i think red chap thought we'd get relegated before a ball was kicked? no
do i believe milan offered for him €6m last summer? no
did leicester start the season badly? no
do i think that qpr didn't give mark hughes enough time (remembering that he didn't manage 1 away victory in his 11 months in charge)? no
do i agree he wasn’t one of those guys at the club who spoke out in the press? er..... no

adel's in his own little world, where whatever he wants to believe is somehow true. the irony of him filling his pockets being ok (because he loves football), whilst being wrong for others is lost to him, as is the whole be a professional thing. look how upset he seemed at the bus stop half way through that fulham game...

me, i can't forget the guy refusing to commit to the club whilst holding the championship trophy or "it's nice to be at a 'proper club'" comment when he went on loan to fulham.

            good riddance.

Good riddance to the pair of them, leeches and rotten to the core, just how they've made our club

I'm pretty sure terry will run it with lots of pleases and thank-yous

Plenty of others did speak in the press about internal issues in the club including such venerated "good eggs" as Hill and Derry - but as ever seems one rule for them, one for the foreigners...

                    um... never said anything?

‘The training sessions aren’t the same standard as Milan, or what I would expect under another manager.
‘They are not as intense, the players aren’t as motivated. It is the same as we used to do at Tottenham years ago. When we played West Ham he told the players ‘you’re not fit, you’re not this, you’re not that’.
‘I said ‘but the problem is we don’t have any plan in the game, we don’t know how to press as a team. It’s not about just running around, you need to play with your brain…
‘After West Ham he said all of the team is not fit. After Liverpool, because the performance was so good, he said everything was perfect – what, in one week, he changed the fitness? Impossible.’

Minority on here but if Adel, Vargas, Fer and Phillips had played more together we'd have stayed up. The lack of creativity was criminal and neither Harry or the youth team coach had the balls to do anything about it.

He is a poisonous little turd with a history of blaming everyone else for everything. 'Arry was hopeless I'd agree with. However Adel has been a pain for several years now. Done not an awful lot for us than cause problems, flopped at Foolham, fell out with Morocco coach and faded after a decent first few games at Milan. Benfica are mad to have given him such a long contract. I know nothing about the Portugese league but am assuming it is similar to Scotland, maybe few decent sides and the rest riss poor. A fat, deluded bloke with an obsession with step overs and fast food may or may not get away with it over there. Over here not good enough for Premiership and doubt good enough for Championship.

New start at Loftus Road. We all know mistakes have been made and no guarantees will go swimmingly now but at least we have got off the self destructive cycle of recent years and one of the ways we have done that is by getting rid of expensive hangers on like our Moroccan friend.

Carbs - don't forget to send us a postcard from Barcelona or Real Madrid when you get there. Gather they are both sniffing around as you are possibly the best player in the world.

Yep, they were quoted - as was Barton - saying there were players at QPR who weren't committed etc.
