I think he is only 23 and has years in him yet.
It was reported last season as well that the only player in Europe that had more assists than him in 2015 was Messi.
And Redknapp didn't rate him and wanted to offload him in January as well.
We need to keep hold of Phillips.
Look at it this way, we get 20% of what Sterling goes for which will probably see us end up with £8million which we wouldn't have got this season if stayed at Liverpool.
That money is a bonus in my eyes, and should be used to keep hold of Phillips.

Does the money that we get for players now, come off this season's accounts (14-15) or next?
New FFP rules allow for a loss of 35m over the next three years, plus we have at least 24m coming this season as parachute money, so is selling players that necessary?

We have to set Matty phillips price above 10 mill - he should be our key player next year and with two years to go on his contract a team who wants him will have to force our hands by offering a over inflated price.
If he goes for 7 mill its a joke. We should be doing everything in our power to keep him to January atleast. Tell him to get his head down and see where we are in the league come January. If it looks like we are contending for promotion stay and help get over the line or if we find ourselves struggling then cash in for 7 mill. We

Do love the valuations of some players , no wonder home grown players are at such a premium , they have one good season or half a good season and valuation goes through the roof. Hurts our overall game and production of youth players if you drastically over price British players. I have heard 20m for Austin and 10m for Phillips, no way are those two commanding of that valuation on what they have achieved, put sell on prices on them by all means but be real in the valuation of a player. Me i reckon 12m /15 tops for Austin 5/7 for Phillips is great value, with sell on clauses
