We're all concerned it won't end well, don't mistake hope for certainty.

I can see both sides personally but must say tend to edge to the side of Vespa

People are only saying give him another year because they like him if it was SWP etc everyone would be saying don’t waste another penny on him cut him adrift!!

Was a super player in championship and think first season up he was making great strides to showing that he was more then competent for the top flight. His game is going to have to change now and im not convinced with three knee injuries the championship is the best league to remould your game we will have to pick and choose his games

Watched his interview and was great to hear but even he said when he got injured he was going to pack it in and go home, as said were not a charity, now who was the last person to suggest such a thing publically and they got vilified for it???? oh yes Harry at Wembley

I hope it works out for Faurlin as the ability is there I hope his body holds up as if anyone deserves a break its him

Totally agree pay as you play deal and no more, we've shown him loyalty, now time for him to repay, and now our longest serving player I believe? shame nearly 3 years have been lost to injury

It's not comparable to SWP though, Ale hasn't played because he's been injured, not because he's not good enough, and what's wrong with giving a bit more leeway to nice guys anyway? It's not like we don't know what he's capable of if fit.

And if he's on more than a fraction of SWP's wages I'd be very surprised.

Of course he was thinking of quitting when he got the third injury, that's no insult to the club, more a reflection of the 'very dark place' he was in unsurprisingly. I can't imagine how depressing that must have been for him.

He's worked really hard to get back to a place where he can try again, he deserves that chance.

Ridiculous comparison. Ale has done as much as humanly possible to earn his keep. Played almost every game for his first 2,5 years here. Then he has been injured with very severe injuries three times, and each time has been busting his gut to get back again. Played 13 first team games after the first injury, and 9 games after his second, and have been very consistent in his performances throughtout his time here. Now he is doing his utmost to be fit and raring to go. He is a very determined young man and should be a rolemodel for any professional footballer. I really, really want Ale in my team.

Me too. I love Faurlin, think he is a brilliant player & I love how passionate he is for the club. HOWEVER, 3 ACL injuries is almost unheard of, I can't help but think it's only a matter of when, not if, it goes again. Really hope I am wrong though.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

As said DK and KuPR were making the decision on Ale based on emotion because we like him (which is fair enough) but if it was a player we dont like then were happy to see the back of him

Matty Rose and Kieran Dyer both players who when with us picked up injury after injury after injury neither caused us any problems but fans wanted each gone because of their injury records no difference between them and Ale. Are we saying that Rose and Dyer were not dertermined to beat there injuries???

No, I do not believe the decision is based on emotion. The reason he is offered a contract is because he is a good footballer with the right attitude and loads of ability and experience, and the backroom staff has concluded that he will be able to perform, having seen him train fully and playing reserve team matches in the last couple of months.

That he is a great guy and likes QPR is just a bonus IMHO.

Totally agree mate. That has to be a secondary issue. I very much doubt that the decision was made on that alone.

No, I certainly didn't say it was based on emotion alone at any point.

It just makes the decision to take a one year risk on a potentially top quality midfielder a very easy one indeed. I know some may think Faurlin is overrated, I'm certainly not one of them. Class act on and off the pitch.

Couldn't agree more. Im just not convinced the ACL in either leg won't go again.

If he hadn't got injured against Milton Keynes (a totally pointless game), I think we would still be in the premiership (and never gone down).
