So your passing the blame Fernándes now. On paper our squad was strong enough to stay up. Our problem was the two shite managers we had leading the team.

Wasn't blaming anyone but if we have to apportion blame I think you need to look at Harry and the board before Ramsey. Clearly we probably won't agree on this but I think the approach we have going into this season is a lot more positive and sensible for a club or our size than any of the 4 previous seasons under Fernandes!

I also don't buy into the point the Wealdstone Raider was making that Paul Clement would have been a far superior appointment than Ramsey. Both are unknown quantities and both could go either way. For the record I would have gladly had Clement here. By the same token I'm not disappointed by the appointment of Ramsey permanently.
Yes yes and yes to your points CR divides opinions I'm sure at least 90%of Ramsey doubters wish him well now he has the job and would love a large slice of humble pie , but for an equal split many of us feel justified in seeing a lack of positivity in his appointment

I'm not questioning our approach to signings etc. My issue is why ramsey was given the job in the first place. He had a worse record than redknapp and sent us down no two ways about that.

I'd be interested to hear what you think the pros and cons of his appointment was as I'm really struggling to find 1 pro for his appointment right now

Ok, my pro's for Ramsey are as follows:

1.) He has had the respect of the whole squad from day one (if you believe what you read). This is something that Harry & Hughes never managed to achieve (again, if you believe what you read).
2.) He tries to play good football.
3.) He's not afraid to drop big names in favour of younger players if he thinks that is what is required.
4.) He has gone on record a number of times saying that he is looking to develop younger players and improve them. This is is something that Harry was neither interested in, or capable of.
5.) He's very well respected in the coaching world.
6.) This one is personal to me. I like the bloke and think he speaks a lot of sense.
7.) He has something to prove.

Of course there are a healthy amount of cons too but I'd still take Ramsey over a lot of the established managers that we could have attracted.

Regarding point 2, we definitely played better football under Ramsey than we ever did under Redknapp. Our problem was a p!ss poor defence. Agree with the rest Tarbie.

                  1, 2, , 5 , 6, 7 are debatable Hiring a manager based on " his a nice bloke " is frankly laughable mate.

1 is invalid anyway as unless your a player in the team how would you know whether his respected or not? The fact that certain players refused to play for him tells me he isn't respected.

I take your point on the other 2 you listed out of the 7 !

Happy to list his cons but I'd probably exceed the character limit on a post...

It's all about opinions isn't it mate? I do think your outlook is a bit negative though.

The one thing that isn't debatable is the fact he is our manager for the foreseeable, he's been given a 3 year contract. In my opinion that means he deserves our backing going into the new season. I'm hopeful that my positive outlook on things isn't misguided and that you and Dogrrs are in for a pleasant surprise!
