      The Club said it was a problem with his residency visa. Is that the same as a work permit?

        It's in the Standard as well - they also reporting he play whole season without a work permit - crazy stuff. "The club is in dialogue with the Home Office in a bid to resolve the matter... Sandro is on holiday in Brazil, he hasn't been deported.."

                              That's true but the club have made a schoolboy error for not checking.
