On £25,000 at Forest. 25k!!!!! If we give him more than 10-12 a week we need serious looking at. How many blind alleys will he run down this season? 200? 350? Gutted we are getting him back tbh. Should be looking at younger more effective targets than a 'grafter'

      Sums up my opinion perfectly.

People quickly forget how often he kept conceding possession to the opposition, which either led to them scoring or put us in very dangerous positions.

It's amazing how much you can get away with if you run around a lot and shout angrily a bit.

        See also; Barton, J

Like Joey Barton who pretty much everyone would have in the Championship because he would be the "best midfielder in the division".

Im actually pro Mackie (I think) but this made laugh!!

Since he left looking at all the various teams we've fielded over the past seasons the amount of times Ive said/thought how much Id give to have a player like Mackie here. Someone who cares, has hunger, has a great attitude, fantastic pro.... But then theres his actual footballing ability. He was never the best but certainly not the worst, well not as bad as some are making out.

The reason why I cant really make my mind up is because every time I think of a good reason to have him here, I immediately think of a reason not too, and vise versa.... like I said over the last few seasons I wouldve given anything to have a player like mackie here, so for now IF the terms are sensible ie contract/wages etc he'll have my support.
            SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

The only reason I'm confident of this happening is through my best mate who has very close connections with Forrest and the players. He told me it was done a few days ago or to be more specific it was in the process of being completed.

He's pretty spot on with his info in regards to Forrest and their players.

Looks like Mackie is the new marmite - doesn't seem to be any middle ground you either love him or hate him.

Still personally think the rubbish footballer is harsh for someone who's played most his career in the top two dovisions.

I also bet if you asked most defended in the league they would say they hate playing against Mackie.

May not be the most naturally gifted player in the world but he never stops giving his all until the final whistle, unlike most of the w anchors we've had 'gracing' Loftus Road for the last few seasons who gave up before the first whistle.
                  Welcome back Jamie!
2011-2013, 2 seasons in the Premiership, 76 games, 14 wins........two years of my life I'll never get back!!

2013/2014 mediocrity topped off with a win at Wembley....

2014/2015 was pretty much the same as 2011-2013.....

                  2015/2016, average at best.....

                  2016/2017, same old, same old....

                  2017/2018, aim low, avoid disappointment!

Its the hope that kills you!

Don't understand the Mackie-bashing that's going on here??

Not the most technically gifted footballer but we did play him on the wing when he is in fact a striker. Only saw two games that he played for Reading but he was brilliant. Holding the ball up, making the runs down the channel and in behind. Worked as hard as ever. And I genuinely believe he may care about the club. If rumours are to be believed, a free transfer as well.
My old man never said be a Chelsea fan...

That's actually a good point. We rarely played him in his best position as striker. So played in that position (and not on the wing) he could be a useful squad player.

Former QPR forward Jamie Mackie is to return to the club on a two-year deal on 1 July, following his release from Nottingham Forest.

Think 25 is the bog standard for our non superstars but regular players.

When I think about some of the very rare happy memories of the Premier league, and also our promotion season with Warnock, they all include Jamie!! Last min winner V Scoucers. Diving header @ the Etihad. Last minute equaliser at Pride Park when we were 2-0 down. I love Jamie. Yes he may lose the ball here and there but how many times does he run defenders ragged and makes them lose the ball! Sign him up!

A solid signing if your ambition is to survive in the Championship.
