I am far from convinced with Ramsey's handling of the players and team tactics ie use of subs and match plans ,
But I am totally convinced him and Ferdinand know what they are about in their vision of the overall squad they want

'AT THE TIME' Rio had just left M.Utd and was a free transfer. He came with bags of international and premiership experience so tbf you'd probably have to be stupid to turn that down. Ok he seemed to lack quality on the pitch but how much was that down to off field problems regarding illness of his wife. And for caulker 'AT THE TIME' he was a massive prospect for England. Young and appeared to be very very talented.... Now with all that in mind we signed a Chillian international (Isla), had a very good young player in Ned, same with Yun also with Hill and Dunne Id say AT THE TIME I was more than happy with our defence. The only thing right now making it bad is what your argument is based on 'hindsight'.... we also had an awesome little player in Vargas, who AT THE TIME I was really excited to have here, but with 'hindsight' I wouldnt've gone near him had I known he'd be refusing to play matches.

As for the management I think theres a fair few (me included) who are still not convinced of Ramsey and his management skills. But hand on heart I honestly reckon him and Les are great for the club in terms of the players they want to bring in and the direction they want this club to go in. Only time will tell, but so far so good in this transfer window imho. Maybe try giving them time, at least a whole transfer window before slating the club 'again'!!

Spot on Nick - plus the fact caulker, ned and yun are all still at the club and at championship level I think it would be hard to find a better cb pairing and as for yun he can hold his own. It's not panic stations yet. If this was our defence for the prem I'd be worried but it's not.

Nervous Neddy and 50p head seriously need to get their act together or they will get carved open again this season, if they can't be coached then move them on asap.

This is a good post. Sorting out the back four has to be priority one.

I was very disappointed when Robert Huth became available and we didn't sign him. That was the final nail in our coffin and the turning point for Leicester's.

Didn't ramsey say he wanted the new signings in before end of month, that prediction isn't looking too good is it?

This is one of the risks we chose to run by hiring a rookie

Jeez it's what he wants, it's not a prediction FFS. It's an admirable aim IMO and what most on here would like to see too, I'll wager. Typical if some jump on him if it doesn't happen though.

Pretty sure we'd have made more by now had it not been for the uncertainty over FFP hanging over us. This makes it a lot harder to budget and plan ahead, and that would be case whoever the manager is.

Would possibly go after another CB if either Caulker or Onuha leave and a reserve LB unless there is one in the youth that can step up.

Starting I'd have: Harriman Onuha Caulker Yun

More than capable in the Championship IMO.

We have jack Robinson who I'm sure will play this season.

For cbs currently we have onouha, caulker, hill (if he signs new contract), ehmer and Donaldson. Personally think we should ship out caulker and onouha for no other reason than both are in mega money. unless they get new contracts with a dramatic reduction in wages. At some point we need to start coaching players to improve rather than just dumping them for shiny new ones.
