Bad move for Charlie to Newcastle imo. Won't do his career any favours. The clubs a farce.

Charlie's made for Southampton, villa, big clubs that a run properly. You could also add palace to that of they continue with their progression and kick on.

Glad we appear to be holding out for the right price for Austin. If Angel Di Maria is worth 60m and Ramadel Facao is worth 6m a season to loan then of course Charlie should be worth at least 15m, even with 1 year left on his contract.

I'd be very surprised if it's Newcastle where he ends up though. Don't get me wrong, I think he'd do a great job for the Geordies but I think he's a sensible lad and he'll know that playing for Pardew and that sc*mbag chairman in front of those fickle fans up there won't be a good career move for him.

As for Villa, I really hope he doesn't go there, he's better than that. I'm sure they'll have money to spend, especially if Benteke goes for anything like his 32m release clause and Sherwood is bound to be sniffing around but at the end of the day they are a nothing club and will implode at some stage under Sherwood.

West Ham? Who knows, depends on who's managing them and how ambitious the board will be in terms of backing for the new manager.

Spurs is an interesting one. As long as Harry Kane is around it will be a daft move for Charlie. The fans up there love Kane and it would take a brave manager to drop him in favour of Charlie Austin. If Kane leaves then I could see it being a good move for Charlie and I could see him getting 20-25 goals in a team like that if player regular.

My money however is on Southampton, they are the right sort of club for Charlie. At his level as far I'm concerned, decent family club, not likely to bring in a real world class striker any time soon and would appreciate a player like Austin who works hard and score goals. I remember how well James Beattie did down there and Austin and Beattie are cut from the same cloth in my opinion, both in terms of playing style and personality.

Sorry to be a pedant Tarbie mate as that's a decent post, but Pardew is now Palace manager!
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Austin and Phillips will not go to Newcastle - I'd bet Ted's cat on that.

Austin will go to Southampton or Spurs.

                Phillips will stay with us.

Makes no difference to me, just that we get the most money possible to reinvest.

Didnt do his career too bad signing for us. We have been just as much of a farce as Newcastle over the last few seasons. Also dont personally class Palace as a "big" club even if they manage to stay up a few years

I think, when it comes down to it, it'll be Spurs. Levy is going to sell Kane to Man U for a healthy amount - and I've heard he's a fan of Austin. Also, for Charlie, Wokingham to Junction 25 on the M25 is hardly the worst commute. Not the best....... but hardly the worst. Anyways: £50k per week will soften the blow of the traffic jams.......

Agreed. We all know he's going, lets just hope we get a nice fee for him.

                            W.Ham reportedly interested in Charlie...

...and want a part ex involving Matt Jarvis,a player who barely got a look in last season.

You know what. If we're going to lose a player like Charlie then yeah. Let's get a good deal involving part ex.

                              12million + Javis. Deal
                              Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                              And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO
