Just a general question, How much for a mid 20s England squad striker who will score 20 plus prem goals a season? £20-25m, so why are we only talking of £15 for Charlie, if contact length is the issue then I think we should hold him to it and take the risk.

For me £20m should be the absolute minimum. If he's only worth, 3-4m more than players like Rhodes and McCormack something's wrong.

The onus is also on Charlie here to either sign a new contract with maybe a release clause, or to say he wants to leave.

If Newcastle want the pair we should hold out for £23m (£15m Austin & £8m Phillips). Not saying they are necessarily worth that amount (namely the latter) but they're contracted to us so if they want them they can stump up the cash.
It's easy this running a football club lark aint it

I definitely agree that £15m is not enough for Charlie. We should be asking £25m and take it from there. If we get offered £23m then maybe we take it.'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. he,ll go soon as teams love a goal scorer . he,s banged them in for the bottom team so a lot of managers will take the punt on him . 12/15 mill nothing in this day and age in the PL . Why wouldn't he go to newcastle they'd love him up there and he knows it
