Ramsey is the wrong man. We need a tried and tested manager like Mark Hughes or Harry Rednapp and spend our way back into the Premier League by buying experienced professionals because we are the biggest team in the league and it is our right.

Some people not only talk shite - they like to post it on message boards as well.

As far as signings go, I think I shall reserve my judgement until the end of June, the timescale mentioned by LF in terms of getting them in for a full pre-season together.

Having a hissy fit over a combination of made up and mis-informed articles from desperate journalists, is only likely to make me look a bit of a pillock.

For a period over 15 years recently season tickets were being bought by our fanbase with little expectation we as a club would achieve anything.
Problem we've had since Warnock took us up is unrealistic expectations and most concerning what our club is, I can remember on this board posters were saying in a few years we would be a top 10 side. Added to this the idea we can sell out a 40k stadium just reinforces how the soul of our club has been lost, if CR is just trying to dampen unrealistic expectations then can't see a problem, regular (which is the vast majority IMHO) QPR season ticket holders renew whatever the season, we are not Chelsea.

[QUOTE=dogsrrs;1423307][QUOTE=TerryH;1423263]Not saying there's a right or wrong answer but the comments are likely to ease the pressure on the players, it's what's being said behind closed doors what is most important.
The managers comments won't sell season tickets, that'll be defined by the players that we sign.

Sorry Terry but I still don't agree all sportsmen thrive on confidence and even the very best like to think they are better than what they really are , good managers are always telling their players how good they think they are ,
They can talk as much as they like inside the club but if fans hear negativity coming out it wont encourage them to want to buy s/t's or memberships or matchday tickets , at the moment I am not renewing my s/t and if I hear much more of Ramsey's negative excuses I certainly wont
                I totally agree.
I got the impression that Ramsey gave up far too easily last season and his pre and post match interviews did not inspire the players or fans. hence the wimpy relegation fight.

He should be giving the fans something to get excited about, otherwise why would we buy season tickets knowing we will get a season like Reading, Bolton Blackburn , Wolves and Fulham had after their relegation?
I know it will be tough without Austin, Fer and probably Phillips. Others will also be sold or moved on i.e. Green, Caulker, Sandro, Taarabt, but listening to Ramsey, just makes me want to just give up on the season before it even begins. A couple of signings from League 1 will not make for a good season.

Watching Derby sign Bent, Pearce and looking at Weimann amongst others to add to their already impressive squad and knowing that sides like Middlesboro, Wolves, Forest, Ipswich and others already have decent squads makes me think that QPR will be more bottom half than top.

Stan you've just painted the picture the way I see it at the moment , I don't mind finishing mid table but I do want to see promise of descent football from the team seeing as there will be no targets put on Ramsey to do anymore than finish mid table

I don't think that CR has said we will struggle to be mid table, or that we won't be playing, or at least trying to play, decent football. More a case of playing down the expectations of some that we will start the season as we did under Warnock with 8 wins and 2 draws in our first 10 games.

I wouldnt worry about any of those sides bar Derby. Forest finished 14th FFS !

Come on Brighty none of us are that stupid to think anybody can build a Championship winning squad in an off season and we don't need CR talking to us as though we are children ! we do understand we're there for a couple of seasons at least what he needs to do talk positive or say nothing he's talking the club down not lowering expectations

Ramsey has never come across to me as talking to people as though they're children or talking the club down. To me he's nothing g short of respectful of the job, positive and realistic.
Been impressed with his media stuff to be fair.
