Saints turned down 10m from Liverpool, both only with a year left.
We see other clubs in particular Saints and Swansea who we aspire to be, negotiate massive fees for average players, mainly to Liverpool.
As much as I want Charlie to get as far as he can in the game, I don't want it to be at our expense.
If we dig our heels in for 25m starting price and nobody's willing to cough up, we keep him, his goals give us a better chance of promotion and 100k+, he leaves on a free, with double the salary he'll get this summer as no fee to pay, everyone's a winner.
        Top post.

Firstly you decided to reply to what i wrote as a rebuttal to my points about it being too risky to force charlie to stay and now you are saying i cannot criticise your reply because you wrote you "THINK" he's that type. Strange logic. How else do people come up with opinions other than thinking? And if its not an indication of your position on the matter then what is the point in posting it? Instead of putting IMO (which wouldnt resolve the confusion) maybe you should consider not posting something if its not how you actually feel about it. Cheers for the flattery though Nick, always like a compliment

Another reason to dig our heels in is his refusal to sign a new contract in January, not to be spiteful, but because had he, we would probably get a bit more money but at 60k a week, we'd be under more pressure to release him, but as he's only on 20k we afford to keep him, ######## to it 30m or no can do.

Cheers Nick. What makes me sure that you meant the compliment is that you didnt say you "THINK" it

Charlie Austin could potentially make his debut for England and believes he's done enough to stay in the Premier League - with Newcastle interested
