Based on the assumption he is happy to stay and plays to his ability for the full season and doesnt sulk, get injured, lose form then it might be a justifiable risk but there are too many variables to say the risk is justified when there is an opportunity of a guaranteed £10-15 million on the table.

Think 15m is fair, and we shouldn't really stand in the guy's way if an offer of that value comes in. Done well for us, wasn't his fault we were shite everywhere else and got relegated.

£20m start off price - especially after he scores on his England debut!

In all honesty, a part of me has a feeling that he might not hit last season's form at another club though....bit like Torres after Liverpool.

He's already said before if he knows he's got a year left on his contract and if he stays so be it. Also I genuinely dont think he's the sulking type of player.... More than understandable he wants Prem football and if he does go then good luck to him, he's been awesome for us and Ill be happy for him (as long as he dont go to that bunch of scum up the road).

Id also be gutted if we got anything less then £15m for him - young, English, scored 18 prem goals in his 1st Prem season.... Think we should do all we can to hold on to him, play hard ball BUT I also think there'll be a host of clubs after him.

Wev'e got to sell him his forms been descent so strike while the iron is hot , IMO Southampton would suit him and we might be able to pick up one or two of their young players in px plus maybe 10m

This. But Matty's right, too. Think the difference between the money mentioned for Bony and Benteke compared to Charlie is summed up by one word: pace.

Firstly he's obviously going to say hes got a year left so if he has to stay so be it, He's not going to openly disrespect us by saying "i want out asap" etc. He knows nothing is guaranteed in football and if for some reason he ends up staying, it will look a little embarassing if he did say those things ala Barton "I wont play in the championship" or whatever he said. Secondly you say he's not a sulking type player but you dont know him personally and how much influence his agent has on him so i dont buy the "he's not that type" etc argument because nowadays most footballers are that type and this is just how it is. I agree I would also be gutted if we got anything less than £15 mill for a youngish english striker with 18 goals in the prem but then thats the price we pay for allowing his contract to run so low.

If he was such a loyal/good egg/love the club type player then why doesnt he sign a new contract with a substantial pay rise and release clause of say £20 mill+ (rough amount) meaning he can still get his move if the price is met, while being rewarded financially until he gets it but also ensuring we are rewarded sufficiently for our asset? My answer to that would be because he has his career to look after and that is why his contract situation has got to this point and why he will be playing in the premiership next season. That is the unfortunate truth

And ability, size and power to play as a lone striker which is the standard formation nowadays

But can he? Thought he wasnt great when he was lone striker but that could have been because our tactics were poop. He played a lot better when BZ or Fer were with him.

Absolutely right , you cant compare them in price range at all. Having said that im not having 32m for Benteke either no way is he worth that in my eyes , well over priced.

Not one person ever thought he was going to stay when we got relegated, the think any different would be clinically insane. The only way of keeping him is a major injury when playing for England which I hope doesn't happen for his sake.

If however he could have an amazing game for England and get a couple of goals it might raise his price by 1-2m just at the right time for us.
