Could QPR be set to swoop for Charlton Athletic striker?

QPR have been heavily linked with Charlton Athletic striker Igor Vetokele, as a potential replaced for top scorer Charlie Austin.

Was just going to post this!

Few my mates say he's pretty decent and would be gutted if they lost him. Anyone know much about him?

He's a very strong, fast striker. Perhaps lacks a bit in the goals department but I saw him play at a Charlton game a few months back vs Watford. He won a penalty in the first 5 mins. Very lively and absolutely rapid, maybe what we need? I think he's played in the Champions league for Copenhagen as well?

11 goals last season which ain't too bad, but if i remember right he started well and then he had a long period without goals and then at the of the season he grabbed few again.

Do we need a striker who is "lacking in the goals department" ?

No, but I think we need goals from more that one player from now on. ^^ And to be fair; 11 goals are not bad at all...

Not gonna lie, I've never heard of this dude but his record suggests he's not gonna replace Charlie in the "goals" department.

Good luck if he does show up, but not sure this guy will be first choice.

I get what you mean but I think a striker than can stretch the game can help create for others. I mean I would hope we would have more goals throughout the team next year as opposed to an 'Austin'-like figure. I say he struggled for goals but 11 isn't that bad. I think I meant that he started very well and went off the boil for a long time. Honestly though, I always think there will be places for fast players even as a bench option because they can create something out of nothing. I mean, you see Leicester this year. Lumping it over the top to Vardy is one of the main reasons they actually scored any goals this season. I think Vetokele would be OK but maybe 4 mil a bit steep. However, I think any proven goalscorers will cost a fortune.

If we sign him, we should also find and sign a player called Master for good measure

He played 1 or 2 seasons in FC Copenhagen. He his quite fast and good with his head, considering being quite short - he can jump really high. He came from Belgium, can't remember which club. I think he was mainly used as sub in FCK, but had a few runs in the team and scored some goals without being prolific. He was sold on when FCK got Andreas Cornelius back from Cardiff. Nothing special when playing in FCK, but maybe my judgement is affected not liking them

Measuring him against the standard of top strikers playing in Denmark, he was not in the top-5, so depends on the price if he is a good buy or not. I could point out more exiting propositions coming from the Danish league. I think FCK sold him to Charlton for around 1 mill. Maybe he has developed in Charlton and maybe Championship suits his style of play?

Would it be correct to say he is FCK all then?

He's okay and that about it. My mate supports charlton reckons he's not too bothered if he goes as he is very inconsistent.
