Could not care less where and how he managed/still manages to line his own pockets - his reign has dramatically reversed the fortunes of QPR.

I don't think the loan from the bank has been used, because it was specifically for training facilities and the new stadium.

The accounts show that the cash ain't in the bank, so that would suggest it has. We are also paying the bank interest.

          Sadly that is correct.

re Kirill's point about Tony resigning while retaining his financial interest: you'd then have a situation where he (Tony) would nominate his successor.... not too sure about that scenario!

It is not about him nominating his successor, he ain't no Putin. It is about someone actually wanting to take over as chairman. If no one does, I am sure there is a procedure for that in the company statutes, for instance abandoning that compromised position altogether and having major shareholders decide on things by majority vote, etc. I'm sure QPR will not become ruderless (any more than it already is).

I would bet money that if TF resigned but still held the major financial 'interest' he would still have a massive say, even if he didn't actually nominate.....

So maybe Tony nominates you as his perfect successor, ensuring continuity and all that

Yes, I will wager he is a few quid in front of Kirill (and me!)

Is he not getting paid for his QPR chairmanship duties? He is getting richer as he makes the club poorer, would you really want to be like him?

unfortunately success in business is no guarantee of success in football, Tone is just the latest in a long line of examples....

On that basis either of you two could have done equally well if not better.... it takes someone really special to spend 190m and still end up in a worse mess than when you walked in the door.

As I see it, the club is stuck with all the owners they are indebted to. Any new ownership would have to settle this debt. Are QPR worth 250M? It appears the purse strings are finally being tightened, Ramsey hire, no January buys and a likely clear our out of the remaining talent (Austin, Phillips, Fer, Green) with not much coming in. Many have been screaming for this and perhaps are correct. If they are seriously going to try and reverse the financial situation then there will be bleak years ahead and all should be prepared and accept it. I hope they tighten the strings but build a team that will compete for top 6.

Pretty much talks about all the different ways we spent a LOT more money than almost everybody else (except the big four) - in the Premier League and in the Championship. Nothing new really. I thought the article improved a bit towards the end and had a few nuggets of wisdom there.

Oh, and the author has obviously just got some new "graph creation" software that he was determined to use as much as possible!
