  • What is a fair price for watching football?

I'm just wondering what people think about this. What do you think is a fair price for watching football at the various levels?
(Just assume an average seat - not the best, not the worst.)

    Here is my gut feeling:
    Premier - £35
    Championship - £25
    League One/Two - £20
    Conference - £15
    Isthmian/Southern/Northern - £10

probably knock a fiver off all these and spread the TV money around fairer
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

I'd go along with that in today's values compared with other entertainment

I vaguely remember a team (Cardiff?) several years ago setting a dynamic pricing policy for a season. Basically, admission price was linked to position in table. I think they had a duff season kicking about lower half of table so consequently it was cheap to get in.
I would like to see the league/FA ban all this "category" nonsense with clubs charging more for games against so called attractive opposition!? Should be same price for every game except TV games should be 33% off all seats.

How's this for value for money, even all those years ago.

1967 League Cup Final QPR v WBA.Attendance 97,952 with gate receipts of £60,000 = average 60p (12 shillings) per head.

1982 FA Cup Final QPR v Spurs.Attendance 100,000 with gate receipts of £918,000 = average around £9 per head.

1986 Milk Cup Final QPR v Oxford.Attendance 90,306 with gate receipts of £897,000 = average around £10per head.

Agree with that regards pricing. Think £30 for a PL game and £20 for a Championship game is more than enough.

That said, playing devil's advocate, all the while people are paying the £40 & £50 price tags for PL games & stadiums are selling out, why would they reduce the prices? The only chance of prices being reduced is if fans were to take a stand & stop attending, would force their hand. However, that is not going to happen.

I genuinely think 15 pounds top. The problem is no one would go to lower league matches so we will always pay over the odds
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!
