Let's see what happens.
Fans moaned all season about most of the players that are coming out of contract now, so let's see how Ramsey replaces them.
You still couldn't give a proper answer on who you think would have been better though!!
Sam Allardyce, Mark Warburton, my dead Nan, plant pot
Not sure he the right man had not proved it and made some strange decisions negative tactics when we had to win west ham ect v bad subs swp was a real stinker also what has happened to TF "dream manager" ??? I hope he proves me wrong mid table for 3 years and build a team be fair enough
People writing him off before even give. A chance to mould his own team and basing his credentials on him not keeping up a squad that's not his and is/was completely unbalanced and short of prem quality.
Here's the fact nobody knows how he will fare with his own squad but how people just presume he's not good enough yet is beyond me. The other fact is this bloke wants to install the philosophies and infrastructure we have all been crying out for and now that's not good enough again.
Rosler did well? Last I saw Wigan were relegated.. Sure he wasn't there to watch them go down but he put the foundations in place..
Rösler's managerial record:
Lillestrom (2 seasons) - 2 4th place finishes in norwegian premier league and a cup final
Viking (3 seasons) - 3rd, 6th and 10th in norwegian premier league
Molde (8 games) - saved team from relegation (20 points from 8 games... molde had only managed 20 points from 22 before he arrived)
Brentford (2 and a bit seasons) - 9th, playoff final in league 1, plus half of the promotion season that warburton delivered
Wigan (2 bits of seasons) - took wigan from midtable to playoffs in first season and to relegation candidates in the second.
overall, it's a good record, which with the exception of the last half season at wigan has involved getting the best out of what he had.
Ramsey seems like a mid table appointment to me. Based on not much i think the club is happy to sit in the Championship for 2 or 3 years while all the waste is cleared out and replaced with youth player, players that actually care etc. As everyone has said, Ramsey (probably) isn't good enough to get us promoted and certainly not good enough to turn us into a solid premier league team, but I think his job is to develop youth which he is good enough to do and now he has total control over their development and more importantly how much playing time they get. If all goes well and Ramsey develops the youngsters then when his contract is up we'll have a solid team for someone like Warburton to come in and take us back to the top flight with no mercenaries only players who want to play for QPR.
The club needed a change from top to bottom thus Les as DOF. This severely limits the type of manager we can get as the role would be head coach (warburton wouldn't want this as he left Brentford for similar reasons, ironic as he has just been a DOF at Watford and brentford)
The club does need to rebuild and a DOF offers stability.
You have listed rosler's achievements but without meaning to dis our Scandinavian cousins the quality of league and manager aren't quite the same.. (Think of ole Gunnar solskjaer)....also if you check his stats he didn't exactly run away with any of the leagues he's managed in.
Bearing in mind the decision has been made and the massive changes underway just back CR for a little while before dummies are thrown please.

Thats the key Maids. And thats why there is such contrasting views on CR because there is nothing to base their opinion on him other than the 14 games he just had as careteker. Thats also why either opinion on CR is valid. The people writing him off have just as much foresight as the people thinking it is a great appointment, none!

I'm afraid that 2-3 years will turn out to be 10 years with a lack of money, years in the wilderness as before,

don't hugely disagree with anything you've said about the club (although i would add that the change needed needs to involve fans stoppinh demanding that '[insert name of current scapegoat player] must never be allowed to play for the club again' and '[insert name of scapegoat member of board/coaching staff] must go now' after every substandard performance). i have always supported ramsey as coach and, on balance, i'm fairly sure that he would have ended up being the best choice, but i still think we should have looked into the other options. (one of the main plusses of ramsey's time so far for me is that we seemed to have moved away a bit from ostracising underperforming players (whilst paying them a fortune) towards actually getting those underperforming players to actually perform).
as fans, we also need to stop deluding ourselves with the whole 'can we lure guardiola away from bayern?' nonsense... we can't afford to pay big money in wages (or compensation to other clubs), we won't have a big transfer kitty... alongside ramsey, we should have looked at either up-and-coming managers that are unproven at championship level or currently unemployed managers with good track records prior to their current unemployment (rösler, imo, fits into the latter bracket)
Personally I thought the plant pot was a good suggestion.
Well what do plant pots do?
They hold in the roots of a plant, they help nuture the plant to grow and mature, they keep everything in its place, that's what a plant pot does.
Let's hope Chris and Les can do the same with a new team of players they want to nuture, grow and mature
Can't see all this negativity about the guy until he has at least had a chance to prove himself with his team. Big name Charlies are a thing of the past now at QPR, at least that is a lesson Tony has learnt.
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles
good post, big names (Harry) don't mean success. Given that a managers reign lasts a couple of years, we'll be in a better position to assess the likes of Ainsworth, Derry and Clint. I'm ok with the appointment
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most
