We need to try a very different approach to that which we have failed miserably with lately. Would far rather fail trying something new than by making the same mistakes again. At least it would be something new to moan about.
My honest suspicion is that the rooney rule has had a part to play in Ramsey's appointment.. Not a massive part because Ramsey seems like a good coach who hasnt had a break as a number 1 anywhere else but i do think the rooney rule was an added extra, even if it would never get reported or admitted.

    • If the club now implement a certain way to play and Sir Les and Chris Ramsey respectively, will buy and coach accordingly, we have come a long way. No more Square pegs in round holes, Please!

          • Only just heard the news and wanted to say well done to the club from sorting this out asap.

This is now a new chapter in the life of QPR, finally we shall be going back to our old roots and searching players from lower leagues and finding the odd gem. I have a good feeling about this, might not be a quick fix but in a few years time we could be a very attractive club like Southampton are today.

I'm really happy that it's all sorted now, it shows that our club are not wasting anymore time and want things moving asap, why would anyone not be pleased?

Players have a lot of respect for CR, that means players will give him 100%. Not only that he must have a list of young hungry players that he wants to bring to our club, it's going to be an interesting few years that's for sure.

I don't expect anything from this season coming but from the year after it will start to show and pay off.

Looks like we got our club back.

            • The best thing about this thread is that 10 games into next season if we are struggling, the ones full of praise for Ramsey and his appointment will be the first on here saying he is a rubbish coach/manager and should be sacked.

Not convinced about the appointment myself. This is based purely on what i witnessed in the 14 games or so he took charge of. His record at home was abysmal and the away form was little better. Some very odd tactical decisions and player selections as well. Not to mention his lack of experience. However for once the club have acted quickly and not thrown money at a supposed "top" manager. Can only get behind the guy on match day and hope he works out.

Poor decision. He is 53 years old and has never managed a football league team. Why do you think he has not progressed in the past? His poor team selection, tactics and man management has been questionable.

I think Tony is not setting for a quick return to the ELP. I can see us dropping.

                • Totally agree with MYU. These are the people who thought Hughes and Redknapp were the answer.

Thats a pretty general inaccurate summary.

To be honest with you I thought both Hughes and Redknapp would sort our club out. It's funny because the person who might do so will be a no one "CR".

I've got my fingers cross for you CR, Good Luck and please bring us back the good old days.

                        • I'm in 2 minds but overall probably feel he should have a crack at it.

On the subject of a few wanting Warburton (I wouldn't have minded him as well) but I do think it's a bit hypocritical when saying Ramsey is too old and not much experience. Well Warburton is a similar age and only had 1 job previously. He obviously got them up (something they were a missed pen away from doing the previous season) and to get them in the playoffs was immense. But what he did was continuing what was going on before and how would be have done coming into us with the set up we had. I can pretty much guarantee that if we were struggling under him the same people wanting him would be like why have we got an ex city boy Brentford reject with only 2 years of experience.

TF was never going to win as there will always be people complaining no matter who we got so let's get behind Ramsey and if we are only mid table next season don't get on his back as the next few years is rebuilding. I don't expect miracles but I know a lot on here want long term progress to happen tomorrow.

                              • Our last 2 managers have been big name's, neither worked out, is it time for a different direction. I don't think he will have trusted players that he will bring in like Harry.
For me who could spell a completely different look at transfers.
