Just another one of our many overrated and overpaid 'stars'. The only difference is he's a mouthy little turd and gets it easy from some because he's English and seems to run around a lot. Has had some shockers this season and cost us dearly of many an occasion. Would never have the profile/fame he does if he hadn't been in the paper for being a ####.

Don't know why we've pandered to him as long as we have. Even when we signed him, Warnock was starstruck and publicly voiced his amazement that we'd been able to sign someone of Barton's profile/calibre, then proceeded to give him the captaincy! Absolute shambles. Don't now of any other club where that could happen.

He came back from france, did not grumble, was given a standing ovation at the first home game last season in the championship, he stated he was humbled by it. Won player of the season for us last year and has been in our top 3 best players this year.

Gave his all over the past two seasons along with calling out the likes of tarrabt and vargas.

Good luck to him with his future wherever it may be.

Jesus can't believe he's been slated for speaking to another club when his contract expires with us In a months time. This is his livelihood and of we haven't aroached him yet then hip a, sure he's looking g into his options. Who wouldn't?

Fact is I reckon we would love to keep him as whatever you think of joey in terms of a prem league player he can definitely hold his own the championship. I genuinely think we will Offer terms just massively reduced which joey might find a bitter pill to swallow.

However I can't see anyone else coming in and paying hi,my he money he wants so there could be a good chance to retain him.

Its no secret Joey's dream is to return back to Marseille but the 1 thing that seems to be stopping him is 'his' wage demand... how much control does the player have over this? or is it mainly down to agents?
