Bony 12 goals in 38 games with world class players around him.

Austin 17 goals in 34 games with poor players around him.

The stats don't lie. Strikers are judged on goals, not opinions

When Austin does it season after season in the premier league, i will class him as good as Bony but until then, its a big statement to make.

That's not the worst argument I have heard.

Chaz is playing as main striker. Bony is 3rd choice striker at City. Makes a big difference.
Plus, modern strikers can't be judged purely on goals, they need to link up play and get the team going. That's what makes players like Suarez, Benzema, Lewandoski, Ibra the best no. 9s in the world and on a different level to the likes of Rooney, Hernandez, and strikers that score goals but do little else for the team.

Austin is like Miroslav Klose, all round game not great but as a goalscorer you cant knock him. Despite his records, Klose will never be remembered as an all time great. Modern strikers are judged on more than just goals these days

Bony has ruined his career by going to city. Glorified bench warmer at best

                      Bony is better
                      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                      And many more mistakes

It depends on the price but I would go with Charlie, seems more loyal than hungry for money.

Ha ha, I've got my "17 goals and 4th top scorer in the Premier League" glasses on!

Interesting debate anyway. I know that Bony is a more "complete" player but I think Charlie is a better pure poacher. Depends what you want really but I also think people underestimate Charlie's contribution other than goals. I remember him clearing the ball off our line in one match and I think his contribution up front other than goals is a lot more than people are implying.

Bony is miles ahead of Charlie, he is the complete striker.

Are you comparing Austin to Klose? Not having that.

Why? Both great goal scorers (one on a slightly higher level albeit), neither amazing football players.
