Everton at home. I always thought we had a chance if we could get our home form going again and Everton was one we really needed to win. When we lost that I knew in my heart it was over.

It was obvious from day 1 we would always be in bottom 4 or 5 but Everton away confirmed to me that we were nailed on for relegation. The performance was shocking and it dawned on me around then that Vargas and Isla were not up for it and would miss more games than they'd start.

WTF do you mean. Realising future events? "When the final whistle blew at the Etihad, I realised we were down." Everything else is insane.
