I dont disagree but the the point of this thread was to discuss the apparent potential transfers we could target that fit the apparent new criteria we as a club are setting on future transfers. I have no problem with older/experienced players

I would go for Chris Martin (Derby), Gestede and Rhodes (Blackburn) as strikers

I wouldnt say scoring goals is a guarantee next season especially when you look at our goal scores and out of them who 'realistically' will be here....
        Austin - 17
        Fer - 6
        Vargas - 3
        Zamora - 3
        Phillips - 3
        Niko - 2
        Caulker - 1
        Hill - 1
        Sandro - 1
        Barton - 1

Imho the players who wont be here next season from our goal scorers this season are- Austin, Fer, Phillips, Zamora, Sandro, Vargas..... thats 33 goals gone. We need a complete rebuild next season mate, throughout 'all' positions.

Nanki Wells used to score goals. There must still be something about him which might be worth looking at.

                Some really good free there.

Bent scored goals for fun for Derby. Also John gudetti from city. Good age and good player. Walereski or however you spell it from Leicester would be a good addition at the back.

I doubt Liverpool will let him go but jerome Sinclair will be a top player.

Two players I would try and get on loan from Chelsea Bamford and Loftus-Cheek (the guy even has a QPR name)

Think Loftus would totally boss the championship

Vargas out and Loftus-Cheek in. That´s the when when it comes to teambuilding and developing the club.

Problem with loans is that they need replacing at the end of the season which seems to be a regular occurrence with us lately(massive summer turnovers). I dont mind the odd 1 or 2 add that bit of quality but would prefer the majority of the starting 11 to be our players so that we finally get a core of players together that will stay our core if we go up.

I agree with you hove we don't want to see a influx of loans. We need players who are going to be with us the next 2,3,4 years.
However such is the rebuilding job I think we will need the loan market to make the squad competitive. We need class loans like a bamford or Pritchard.

Bamford will be in the prem if Boro get there. Should think he would sign perm for them. Would be a class replacement for Charlie though.

Agree Maids that they would be good loans just hope we are not too reliant on them so that we find them hard to replace the following season. On the other hand if they do fire us to promotion we would stand a strong chance of buying them permanently.
