    Regarding Austin, Fer, Phillips

As all are under contract meaning we are in control of what happens next...

Do we refuse to sell and keep all 3 very very good/talented players who all have goals in them and no doubt would be key to a possible return to the top flight for a immediate return to the Prem. But doing this would gamble getting anywhere near their true value when we have to sell when contracts are up/possibly injury/dip in form etc?

    OR

Sell them now while they're worth good money and use the 'good money' to invest in a number of decent players for now and the future and rebuild?

Liverpool could not keep Suarez and they are a top of the world club and he was their best player in years and years, so do you really think you can keep a player who wants to leave by playing hardball?
If they want to stay in the prem and someone in the prem wants them they will be gone, no matter what.
The only chance we have got is that cos our owners are so 'stupidly' rich that no club can afford to pay them what we pay them so they might have to stay ala SWP.

I reckon we could keep Fer and Phillips by playing hardball but Austin imho will definitely be a different story. Proven goal scorer everywhere he goes/English/currently 4th Prem goal scorer/young etc etc. I can see him going, not because he wants to go but because clubs will offer big bucks because of the above reasons. A bit like Suarez and a £75mill offer.... If the moneys on the table the player will be gone. Money talks!!

Money dont talk with qpr mate, it just waves goodbye. The ten million for Chaz wouldnt even sort a weeks worth of wages would it?

If we play hardball and keep all 3 it will be worth it if we go back up

Difference is we wont be getting £50 odd million for Chaz.

The way I see it is, If we dont get £20million for him then dont sell. Take a punt on him next year, he will be the difference in going up.. hands down!!!

Trouble is, if we play hardball and keep three players who dont want to be here cos they think they are too good for the club/division, we will end up with another three adel taraabts.

Playing hardball is based on the premise that the players will be ok with staying and not sulk or kick up a fuss about it. The player isnt worth anything to us if he doesnt want to play for us and this affects his form. This is unfortunately the modern game.

Will either Austin, Fer or Phillips be sulking if made to stay here?.... Id say no. They come across as very level headed players and I'd imagine they'd understand this is a job, they get paid good money and are still contracted to us. I really cant see them doing an Adel!!.... but who knows.

I agree with this as far as Austin is concern, but the other two MUST be made to stay until Xmas at least, in my dreamy world, if we could get Austin to sign a longterm contract and ask him to also stay to Xmas, and if we are well off the pace give him his move at an agreed selling fee, say £10m, every body wins, but I suspect he will be gone in the summer.

Caulker, Fer, Phillips, Sandro, Yun, Nedum, Henry, Dunne (maybe a rejuvenated Samba Daikite, )if CR is as good a coach as they say he might get him playing again? A few of the youngsters like Furlong, Sendes white, Donaldson,Cole, Doughty, Sutherland, Cox, Comley and have a look at Elmer, Andrade and Harriman.

Les and Ramsey have been scouting the youth network for years so I am hoping a few gems can be pulled out of the bag.
                        Kept the faith!

Since the PL began, only Andy Johnson has been a top 5 goalscorer and stayed at a relegated club. Can't see Austin repeating that in all honesty.

Agree - we'll only waste the money anyway.

Austin will go imo. Worth keeping but I just don't see it happening.

Fer is 100% gone. The Euros are next year and we only got him due to Norwich's relegation.

Philips should know his limits but he'll want to stay in the Prem imo. He's nothing special and easily replaceable, but sadly I can't see us doing that.
