  • Stewarding at Loftus Road by dedicated QPR fans only - would you do it?

Replace the current random and unreliable bunch of stewards wit a group of loyal QPR fans, would it work? How many of you would be actually prepared to join the scheme? I reckon the club needs about 60 stewards?

No. I'm there to watch games not direct people to their seats. Good idea though for those that fancied it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with hiring a company to do it. In fact, I think that approach is better. But somebody at the club needs to take responsibility for giving the stewards direction for how to behave and informing the company when there are certain stewards that are not acceptable to us.

The question doesn't really apply in my case but no, I wouldn't do it.

why do u think its better to hire outsiders , many of them english is not their 1st language , debatable if many of them are football fans so don't get the difference in celebrating a goal to just jumping around for the sake of it

Good idea, but I wouldn't do it myself. I go to football to enjoy myself, have a laugh with pals, see the Rangers, have a few beers.

there are a lot of QPR fans who are unable to go because of cost. This could be the answer for many of them
I must away now, I can no longer tarry

We used to have locals, regulars who did the stewarding week after week. They knew your face and used common sense. Trouble with being one is you miss the game or at best a big chunk of it - my father did it and gave up for that reason. Rent a random mob is not the answer though, I have actually been told, in a sort of English that I just about understood, that I could not stand in the seats.........40 mins before kick off, chatting to neighbours.

Good idea but it would be really difficult to stand with your back to the game, especially each time we were on the break
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

I would do it. Cant afford a season ticket these days so could be the next best thing.

Because if stewarding is their business they should in theory do it well - much better than amateur supporters. Not to mention that it relieves the club of the burden of trying to find people who would be good at it. I could be wrong though - the so called professionals we have at the moment seem to be in great need of improvement.

You cannot let Rangers fans police the Ground .. A mate of mine who many will know who's name rhymes with chuggers used to steward at Rangers. After a Liverpool winner in the school end he helped an unwitting scouser from the top tier to bottom ( must have caused proper injury )... In late 80's
