Do We Need A New Manager, Or Stick With Ramsey?

If we go down then yes, if we stay up then I'd go all out for Allardyce.

Allardyce' teams aren't pretty but as a club we need stability for a few years in this league. The income is at an all time high and quite simply we need to have a piece of the pie to get this club of ours on a more secure financial footing. You can't guarantee anything in football but we wouldn't go down under big Sam. Like him or not, he gets the job done.

Im still undecided personally. The next manager job is a big decision and one we need to get right, i just hope the scars of the previous 2 managers doesn't influence the board into making the wrong decision. They need to think what is best for the club going forward and who is the right man for the job. Just because Ramsey has turned the performances around recently doesn't mean he is the right man for the job going forward. If we are relegated (which I believe we will be) then there is going to be a massive rebuilding job next season, is Ramsey up to that? We have no idea what he is like in terms of recruitment or attracting players and we all know our academy isn't currently up to filling the gaps for the exodus that may come in the summer. I'm not saying Ramsey is not up to the job, tbh I don't know but if the board are weighing up whether to go with Ramsey instead of their "dream manager" they need to get this decision right or it could be disastrous. Look at wigan and fulham

Good point about any need for Allardyce

I think he has done a reasonable job up until now and we seem to be getting better, which is important. So I've voted to stick with him regardless of what happens this season, but I have not seen enough yet to have a very strong opinion either way.

I don't want Allardyce. It will be Redknapp all over again. The man is a footballing dinosaur and West Ham have done aright because they've got a good recruitment policy, not 'cos of his influence. Allardyce is the easiest option but one of the worst we could make, he's on massive wages, is a greed ####er and chummy with agents.

I think Ramsey should be kept on as no. 2 / head coach, with a modern manager who can come in and instil a philosophy at the club. See what LVG is doing at Man Utd, what Martinez did at Swansea etc. If we can't get the right man then stick with Ramsey, but the board need to think long and hard and make sure they get the right guy in.

Precisely. Sod's law is we will probably get Alardyce

I thinking keeping Ramsey would be key in keeping players like Phillips, Caulker, Fer at the club if we go down. I think they really like playing for him as its showed since he's been in charge. I wouldn't worry about recruitment while Les is DOF, i think he has the same vision as many of us.

Caulker and Phillips will stay regardless but if you think Fer will hang around if we go down, you're going to be disappointed.

Remember it's the Euro's in 12 months and anyone currently in a national squad or on the fringe, will not be playing in the Championship.

                    It depends on his contract.

He must be on a cushty contract with us and does he really want to move again so soon? Living in London aswell. All depends who comes in for him and how much, we won't be letting him go on the cheap that's for sure.

No chance imho mate. Fer's a top player and more than capable of playing for most Premiership sides. Said it before, IF he had been played in his strongest position just behind the strikers all season and stayed fit he'd be our POTY. Absolutely no chance of him playing in the championship. Clubs have plenty of dollar and if we go down it'll only be a matter of time before someone comes in for him.
                        SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

Yeah I love him myself mate, top player. Probably our best player when fit. It's more hoping he will say rather than thinking he will. Napoli were interested in January apparently so they may come back in for him.

Ramsey being a better manager than Redknapp is not a reason to give him the job though.

Very succinct and spot on.... Go all out for Eddie Howe, Cloughie or Phil Parkinson if Eddie isn't available and have a proper LT plan that involves Ramsey gradually providing a regular stream of first team players would be my ideal scenario....

I think we have Clement deal agreed if we stay up or go down though.
Clement and Ramsey partnership could work.
