  • fixtures and points to stay up

IF we're to stay up imo we'll need a maximum 10 points and I think they'll come from-

    WINS
Chelsea (just got a feeling we'll nick it with the players being right up for it, plus with LR buzzing)
    Newcastle
    Leicester

    DRAWS
    W.Ham
City (got 'another feeling' we'll come away with something from this one)

    REMAINING FIXTURES
    Chelsea (H)
    W.Ham (H)
    Liverpool (A)
    M.City (A)
    Newcastle (H)
    Leicester (A)

how many point do you think we'll need to stay up and where'd you reckon we'll pick the points up from??

I think we will beat Leicester, draw West Ham or Newcastle, and lose the rest.
    We will be relegated.
    I hope im wrong.

If we get 10 points I think it might be enough you cant ask for more than that

Find it staggering how people still think we need so many points when the six teams at the bottom have done nothing but lose all season and suddenly everyone thinks the tide will turn, not for me.

West Ham is the huge game, we win that and I believe we'll pick up enough points from Newcastle and Leicester to stay up.

34 points will be enough. I'll stick my neck out and say 33 points keeps us up as I can't see Hull getting more than 4 points from their remaining games and hopefully they get hammered in a couple so our goal difference is better and we may sneak it on 32 points.

One thing is for sure, it's going to be a low total.

I believe and hope 34 points will just about stay up on goal difference, so another 9 points may see us ok, I do though fear the odd freak result, which might then make 34 points unrealistic unless its us who pulls it off at City, Liverpool or The Scum at home on Sunday.

We dont do sod all all season then suddenly we score 7 in 2,.... relegation bound players/teams will up their game, past form/results will go out the window as we come into the final stages of the season.

One of the bottom clubs will pick up an unexpected result. Lets hope it's us.

                This weekend.

What if we lose them both but beat Chelsea & Liverpool, do we stand a chance still?

Hasn't been updated with the Villa result, but according to http://www.sportsclubstats.com/England/QPR.html:

33 points - about 44% chance to stay up
                      34 points - 67%
                      35 points - 85%.

Of course nobody knows how many points will be enough but we do have a fairly long Premier League history to guide us. I can't be bothered to work it out but just from memory I don't think any team with less than 35 points has ever stayed up so that is a good number to work with as a minimum. In which case we need another 9 points to be in with a shout.

It happens near the end of every season: the teams at the bottom suddenly start picking up more points and it is the teams who come up with big results that stay up. I have a feeling that if we are to stay up we are going to need a big result or two in the three games we are all pretty much writing off. Because otherwise we need to win all of the other three and I just can't see it - we are bound to slip up somewhere.

Think it'll be done and dusted by the time we play Leicester. Hopefully in our favour. It's a total cliche, I know, but I think we need to take it one game at a time and start by winning on Sunday.
