Are you talking about playing Hill at LB and Phillips ahead of as a cover? Then whom would you play on the right wing? What would be your team?
IMO that is a waste of Phillips talent.
I checked pitch sizes and this is what I find Villa Park 115*72 but Loftus Road 112*72. I can not see that make any difference.

100% we are playing 4 4 2 tonight and personally think Kranjar will be picked to go in the left!

This is what I meant to write
I think there is a lot of defensive cover in this team also a goal or two
Take a bow, mate. I tip my hat to you. Three at the back. Minus the useless Isla and Anton, mind. Fair play. Worked very well second half.

We actually looked very good playing 3 at the back 2nd half v Villa. Its what Harry had been trying to do at the start of the season but never managed it as well as Ramsey. And having 5 in midfield snuffed out Villa's threat. Would 3-5-2 work against the top sides though?

I'd start with the team that finished against Villa. I know that Traore rightly gets stick on here but he is much better as a wing back than a left back in a back four!

Yep tend to agree. Even though Traore had a a half decent game against Villa, 1 game doesnt take away a whole qpr career of pony performances. That said Id still prefer him over Niko and SWP and that really does show how pi$$ poor that left side is (and Im guessing Adels not available[?] so no point considering him). Dont think we can mix it up to much and risk bringing 1 of our best/threatening/creative players (Phillps) out of position to the left either so all that really leaves imho is playing Traore.... Also the last thing we want to do is risk starting on the back foot like we did against Villa otherwise we'll be going in at half time 4/5 nill down not 2-1 down. Start with a solid midfield, stay tight and get right in their faces and hope we can get them on the break..... and obviously pray that a little bit of luck goes our way.

Great post. If we go behind we're toast. And we're so weak in left midfield I guess Traore has to start....... I never ever thought I'd construct that last sentence.

We do not have a RB nor do we have a LB with Yun out.
But we have a few CBacks so 3 at the back for me.
                  Crowd the midfield.

I have said it once and I say it again; we should never have given up the 3-5-2 formation we intended to play this season. I know that the players kind of ditched it, but after all Hoddle was brought in to implement it, so why did we not give it a go for more than a few matches?..Really, how many points did we get with the other more oldfashioned formations .

Ps. Lars Bohinen, ex Forest and Blackburn is having success with this system now that he is the manager of my favourite club in Norway. The same Bohinen is a guy I want to QPR when he is ready it.

Let me ask you something. If 3-5-2 is played and you have to change things around, how many changes will you have to make to get to 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1, ensuring of course you use the right players in the right positions?

IMO, it's a system that's difficult to make too many changes to without using a lot of subs.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

You have to tell me what the score would be when change needs to me done 1-0, 0-1 or something else!!!!!

3 at the back against Chelscum??? You gotta be joking. You need to have pacey and skillful wing backs

Hoilett has been cr@p but I think this game is well suited for him. Perhaps he can get a penalty If he targets dribbling against JT.
